'15 TN WR Van Jefferson

He also flat out said I know I can come compete anywhere, I'm not afraid of that. Are you ignoring that sentence in the quote that you posted? As Bowl said he contradicted himself.

You don't have to be afraid of competiton for it to be a reason you don't go to a school. The path to playing time is much clearer as a freshman at UGA than it is at TN. He didnt like how deep we were compared to his goals of wanting to start as a true freshman. It wasn't going to happen at TN

That never gets old. :good!:

Old article from ESPN. Still talks about waiting to learn Pig Howards status.

Wish Van the best in his college career with zero catches anytime he plays us.

Exactly! Same thing can happen to any team.

No insult intended. It's well known that Georgia has had a very high number of knee injuries recently, especially at the skill positions. If you read my post differently, I actually wished them luck. I just used imagery to describe the knee issues they have been having

Strong retort :hi:

Ok. Marquez North is better than anything UGA has. Josh Malone has way more potential that any young WR Georgia has. Pig,Pearson, Croom and Smith is a great supporting cast.

Conley is good, I'll give you that. Bennett is alright. Malcolm Mitchell is a ***** that's made of glass.

You wanna talk quality or quantity? Because UT has you guys beat in both categories.

North
Malone
Pearson
Pig
Croom
Smith

That's outstanding depth to go along with a couple of guys that have superstar potential.

Oh, and we're adding the best WR in the country to that group next year. You know, Georgia's own Preston Williams.

No wonder Van Jefferson was scared to try and compete with that :)

Malone and Pearson haven't caught a college pass. North didn't break 500 yards (QB problems tho)

Let's pump the breaks a little. Are we loaded with potential? Absolutely!

But wait to crown them until they show it.

Maybe QB play has a lot to do with choosing UGA.

Eh. I live a couple miles from ravenwood. Van is a good player and good family. Former and current Titans are hyped in this area though. If his name was Frank Smith and his dad worked at Home Depot, he wouldn't have a final 3 of osu, ga and UT.

He also said he's not afraid to compete anywhere in the next sentence.

He basically said "I'm not afraid to compete anywhere, but I'm afraid to compete at Tennessee". Saying Tennessee has a lot of WRs right now = I don't want to compete vs that depth chart.

I was in 100% agreement with you until I read his quote about Tennessee.

Because he flat out isn't on the talent scale of anybody we have 1-7 and then you add Preston. He's coming in battling for 9th receiver and mostly freshmen and sophs there now.

English 101: When paraphrasing it's a good idea not to use quotation marks.

Okay, guy's a bum. But he's a 4-star bum and he bumped us up to the #3 class in the nation. We'll take him. He has good company as we also have commitments from 3 other 4-star WRs, plus a 3-star one. Only time will tell how good any recruits are. But Jacob Eason at QB should draw the attention of some other receivers to UGA.

Message boarding 101: When trying to make a smartass retort on a message board, try quoting the right post first.

Good for you guys. Maybe one day Georgia can have a WR unit like WRU has right now and will have next year :hi:
