'15 TX QB Jarrett Stidham (Baylor commit)

That scene literally just happend as soon as I seen this. It's on TV right now.

If he reaches out to us that would be different, but I think we've got our hands full recruiting Sheriron Jones & Francois and on top of that, doing the necessary work of recruiting and re-affirming JJ/Q.D's commitments makes it even more difficult to reach out. But regardless this kid is one of the best in this class.

Thought the same thing. Rosen and it's not even close. Can see Stidham ending up at Baylor.

Rosen is the best high school QB prospect since Jameis. Can't really compare him and Jameis but I think if you look back to Matt Barkley coming out of high school, they both had similar skill sets. But I think Rosen is more polished right now than Barkley was coming out of high school and we all know how Barkley performed in college. Rosen threw something crazy like 29 tds and 4 ints this year. The kid is going to be fun to watch.

No doubt. He will be a stud. I would expect to see his name in the Heisman race one day. The potential is definitely at that level. Hate he is a Bruin but atleast we won't have to deal with him.

Seriously go to Oregon, Baylor, or TCU. Briles should seal the deal here, he used to coach high school in Stephenville.

Truth is stranger than fiction:

Jarrett was going to follow his girlfriend to Tech. She has decided she doesn't like it there and will transfer.

His parents didn't want him to go to Tech so they refused to sign his financial aid papers and booted him out (rumor). He now lives with Matt Copeland, Art Briles' first spread QB at Stephenville (truth). Matt s father, Mike, was Art' s DC at Stephanville for twelve years. the Copelands are Tech grads. Can't believe Tech walked into this blindly...OK, it's Tech.

Jarrett has been the main recruiter for most of Tech's top recruits for 2015. the dominos may soon be falling in Lubbock.

I will never understand why TX didn't come hard after Briles.... King of TX HS football... Connections everywhere

That is a strange situation if all is true. I hope the young man finds a school to call home. I know I wanted him to come to UT and I still wouldn't mind if he did.

Refused to interview at Texas? Makes me dislike him a little bit.

Probably his way of letting them know, that if they are serious about hiring him, he isn't going to put up with their crap. By them letting him walk, he learned they weren't ready to do things his way.

I could see Nick Saban do that to Alabama back in 2007/2008 but Art didin't necessarily have the NC ring on his hand. I'll admit I know jack about Art Briles but from an outsiders perspective it looks like a "clown move, bro."

Bro... Texas was beyond dumb not to drop a dumpster full of cash at his door. At Texas with his connections his recruiting classes would make Nick Satan jealous...

A person has a right to decline an interview, just like an employer has a right not to hire a person based on their refusal to interview.

If I were Texas, I'd prob offer him straight up though.

I watched some ESPN(I think) special on him. He seemed like a "good ole boy" (in the best way possible) I could honestly see him having zero desire to deal with the Texas boosters trying to run him and that was his way of seeing if they were willing to let him do his own thing.

Even with zero rings, I'd say it is pretty obvious the success he would bring if he were to be hired at Texas. I mean really, think about it.

He probably was content without ever coaching Texas. If he wanted it he would have interviewed. What's so humiliating about an interview?

That makes sense. Thanks for sharing. Could certainly understand the reluctance to deal with large money boosters. I just assumed it was like a dream job for him.
