'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

I've been going to Texas high school football games for almost 45 years. I've never heard or seen a fan base show the lack of character and poor sportsmanship as a group as was done yesterday. I guess the Volnation has decided to cuss those they can't beat.

I didn't say they hadn't heard a cuss word. I said I can assure you none of the Dormadys participated as you ensenuated, especially their nine year old twin daughters.

Hopefully, this doesn't sour Dormady on attending Tenn.

Insinuated...pard...and I didn't...save your butthurt for the proctologist. :)

So, you are also the spelling police. Impressive.

Is this not a quote of from you?

"Sounded like a large contingent participated...maybe they were part of that?"

Have you not sobered up from drowning your sorrows yet?

the whole F U UF was embarrassing... it did sound loud on TV,hope it was mainly the student section, but it sounded louder than just 1 section I can assure you...if so,its disappointing... I hope it didnt affect the Dormady's or any other recruits commitment... and Dormady is pretty mobile...

I'm a student, it was chanted multiple times throughout the game. The loud one was the last time and it was the loudest because everybody chanted it. The student section is also about 4-6 sections, so yes. It was more than one section.

Hope Butch and admin will address this with students. I would imagine this was addressed with students and parents in attendance.

Not typical of a TN game.

I heard it numerous times between 04-07 at both football and bball. It's not as uncommon as many think. Not any less embarrassing just not that uncommon.

I was at the game. It was definitely from the student section. Something needs to be said about it. It was pretty embarassing.

Didn't drink a drop yesterday... Should have...:). Speculating on a possibility and insinuating aren't necessarily the same thing...even when Jim Crow laws were in effect. The egregious cussing wasn't Tennessee's finest hour but you and your ilk coming on here and acting like WE need to feel guilty is a little douchy. The majority of VN (including myself) weren't even in attendance...And I'm sure you're not indicting Butch in the shenanigans? :dunno: If I had been at the game, I wouldn't have joined in but I'm not going to lecture frustrated (and inebriated) college students on social niceties. You ENSENUATED a personal knowledge of the Dormady family? If true, I hope you convey to them our excitement of his possible future contributions to the team we adore...we need him...if they're in shock at the coarse language in a college environment? You're going to hear cussing in South Bend or Provo or Knoxville. Maybe a high end church league will start operations and he can develop his talents? :dunno:

I didnt mean 1 section of seating, just 1 particular group out of the crowd, but I can see how you took it that way... I mean there are 75+ sections in Neyland, but you could hear it over Brent Musberger,it sounded like 1/2 to 3/4 or more of the stadium on TV...

and yes,it has been done before...its embarrassing every time also...and I agree with Butchna,if you are the QB at UT,or any major college program, opposing fans will get you acquainted with a broader vocabulary, and in some UT QB cases, our own fans...

I've heard way worse at high school games.

& honestly, If this does bother him. He might as well go to a division ll school. It happens everywere no matter how embarrassing it is.

Bad enough it happened. Even worse some try to justify it. Nice to know since someone heard worse at a high school game, it makes it OK at Neyland.

Sad times for VN indeed.

Hopefully, this thread can return to the subject of Dormady contributing to the return of winning football to Tenn.

Look bud you have been on Vol Nation for all of 2 seconds. Some have been here since before FREAK invented the message board.

I was there in the stadium and although I didn't participate in the chant, somewhere deep in my mind I whole heatedly agreed with it. That is my opinion and you are very welcome to have your own but for someone that has been here for all of 2 seconds YOU have zero right to be butt hurt about any opinion. See we bleed Orange and therefore take this personally and after 10 years I shall fault no VOL for saying it like it is. Quite Frankly we do not like Florida!

"I haven't gotten a chance to see him in person. Everything I've seen from him on film is pretty impressive, though, and everyone I've talked with who has seen him play this year has been really impressed with his arm strength, athleticism, mechanics — pretty much everything. He's going to have to continue to develop once he gets on campus, like any quarterback, but it sounds like he's pretty college-ready for a high-school quarterback."

Being and EE and running a similar system his senior year might just pay dividends.

I know you really don't want to start a true freshman, but maybe we have to.

Hopefully Dobbs can really make some progress this year and offseason.

I hope the QB competition in the Fall is full on.

No offense, but if a chant that includes a cuss word is so offensive that someone would back out of their commitment, the SEC might not be the place for them. ...Maybe BYU or somewhere similar. Liberty U has a football team don't they?

I really think Dormady could do great things here, but I'd be willing to bet Jennings doesn't give a "****" what the crowd chants to the opposing team. All he wants is a chance to play QB at UT. I like that. We need that.

Oh, and the way you are posting makes it seem like you are closely connected with the Dormady's. If you are part of the family, that is one thing, post whatever you want. But if you are just a family friend, be careful. When you make it sound like you know a recruit and are "suggesting" that a particular event could turn them away from their commitment, you are on a slippery slope. You could truly cause some sour grapes over something that really isn't your business.

Just going off what I've seen of the young man. He doesn't appear to be the kind of guy that would think highly of a fanbase that acts as ours because we can't beat someone on the field. He did have his little sisters there with him according to the pictures showing up on twitter.

Also, I have seen where he speaks highly of the coaching staff. The way many have turned on them and want to run them out of town already is ridiculous and may be concerning to a new recruit.

As far a slippery slopes, I think those are occupied by the jackasses that participated in the chant and are now trying to justify it. How about we support our team and its recruits while representing the VN with some character and dignity?

His being here "2 seconds" makes his opinion less valid than someone else's?

Duly noted.

We need ya Q... for the record his Twitter doesn't show much other than a good time- minus the loss.
