'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

Well we now have to get another QB if QD is acctually injured. Wondet which fits our system more

Why? Was QD being counted on as the starter? Was he even the for sure #2? What if his injury is a pulled muscle? What if he is good to go in 7 days? Maybe 2 weeks? Not sure I would just count him as out forever and we need a replacement. :birgits_giggle:

And Peterman supposedly gone. That would leave Dobbs then then Jennings. Definitely gotta get either a transfer who can play now or get that third qb.

Wouldn't you want at least options until you can medically evaluate the injury? If Dormady or Jennings aren't the #2 next year then Peterman would be and I don't think anyone wants to entertain that possibility. The staff likely knows something to make them start recruiting a third QB this late in the cycle. Peterman transferring or an injury to one of the incoming freshmen would make sense. I know that doesn't suit your assertion that we have a "shady" staff as far as recruiting though.

Didn't QD just recently play his HS final game? I don't recall his numbers being bad. I don't recall word that he was "injured" in that game and or could not finish it. It almost seems as though fans are making this supposed "injury" a lot more than it may actually be. I see no reason to not think that at WORST QD is the #3 for 2015. If CBJ indeed will lose NP and QD is "out" then a 2 year Juco QB would make much more sense to replace Peterman, not a 3rd HS guy. JMO

The "practice is more important than the game itself " crowd will not be pleased with your post.

Well gee um everyone is making a big deal about it because IT IS A BIG DEAL. These practices are just as important as spring and fall. The players can workout whenever hit are only allowed to work out with staff a certain amount of time per NCAA rules. This gives our players more valuable learning time with our coaches and strength and conditioning. Butch Jones, along with every coach playing in post season speak of the benefits of the extra practices. To say they aren't a "big deal" on reveal that you don't know much about college football.

Get real dude.

Maybe Dormady's injury makes them a little worried? IF they think he may have something significant especially to an already surgically repaired shoulder then Jennings would be Dobbs primary backup without anyone significant behind him. If you have concerns about his shoulder and Peterman transfers, you almost have to have another option.

Why would they be worried about an injury which occurred almost two years ago. He played all of the 2014 season and played very well. In fact, his play became better as the year progressed and never showed any sign of a problem from the injury. Get real with your posts.

I've mentioned this guy twice before. Need a Juco QB who could likely challenge Dobbs early on? Here ya go. Come on now Butch, I can't do it all for you. :birgits_giggle:

Trent Hosick

Kid can throw it, he can run it, he trucks/KO's defenders. I like him. Give me a Juco guy vs a 3rd HS guy any day. Space them out roster wise. It's the only chance they stick long term.

We don't know what the injury is to Dormady currently but if it's that shoulder, it's a concern.

They may just want to rest his shoulder from the season and all the throwing he's done for recruiters. Been throwing a lot since he got his release from the doc.

Ummmm....that kid is pretty good. He has really quick feet! I don't always agree with you, but this time I do. Kid can play and looks as good as any we have committed, but that's from my untrained eye. Nice find Leb. Kid has wheels and a heck of an arm on him. :hi:

This imo is why we are looking for a 3rd QB. Quinten is hurt and may not be able to practice? Seems like a great reason to look for someone else to add to the class just as a precaution if QD can't go.

And it looks like our so called "shady" CBJ is sticking by the Vols commitment to QD. That "shady" little devil. He is BAD. Hope the other prospective commits take notice.

Butch is so filthy. He probably punched QD out as soon as he got on campus so he could get him to agree to signing a 3rd QB in this class.

Looks and plays like Connor Shaw, I'll take it. Looks like he was a Missouri QB signee? Did not beat out Maty Mauk?

If QD is at Tennessee now, you can bet the trainers and medical staff have already evaluated any "injury" :salute:

In my opinion, JUCO QB's would want to go to an almost guaranteed starting spot. If you only have 2 years to play, you probably don't want to go to a spot that has a semi-established starter that has started games the last two years and have 2 4* QB's coming in. You're big on giving us the advice you would give your "hypothetical" kid, what would you tell him if he was a JUCO QB?

Yes, it would be better for the program to have a JUCO QB that could act as a buffer, but you'd be hard pressed to find one that is better than one of the Freshmen coming in that wouldn't mind possibly sitting for his 2 years.

Per Hubbs

Hubbs coming off the top rope. I had heard that there was an injury, but was told it wasn't public knowledge, yet. I found no coincidence when the "3rd QB" came up recently. If you have Peterman leaving, and the possibility of one of your QB's not 100%, it makes sense. If all of that shakes out, you would have Dobbs, JJ, and Wegzyn in the Spring. That's pretty slim. It will be interesting to see how much he participates in practice. In my opinion, if you see reports of QB throwing much in practice, then the 3rd QB talk will quiet down significantly. If he throws much and we still recruit a 3rd, then that will all but be the confirmation on Peterman's future.
