'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

I thought he was showing up and leaving before the camp started. People were saying he was scared to throw with other top QBs and was skipping town before the camp started. Maybe I read it wrong though.

I remember there was an article that said he would be visiting bama this week, and UT, UK, and maybe candy all next week. I think it was a surprise he showed up when he did.

This is what I remember reading. It was posted on June 2nd. That's why I think him showing up was a surprise.

Things are getting busy for Boerne (Texas) QB*Quinten Dormady, who is one of the nation's top uncommitted signal callers. The 6-foot-4, 208-pounder will throw at Alabama on Tuesday and then make a road trip to check out several programs who remain in the mix.

"We're hitting Alabama this week and then hitting all the guys that have offered next weekend," said Dormady's father and head coach, Mike. "We're going to see Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana."

I'm highly in favor of locking this dude up and being done with QB recruiting.

We're leading for the #8 overall prospect in the ESPN 300, but you want to settle for an ordinary prospect outside the top 300 now just to "be done" with it. Good thing you're not coaching our football team.

Text from Bama friend --

"Bol writer said Dormady is on UT's campus yesterday.. Said he was supposed to do it next week but the UA offer and push has sped up his process... Whatever that means. Dont know if thats good or bad for us ha"

It is good.

Those two words next to each other cause synapses to misfire in my brain. It's like trying to put the positive ends of two magnets together. :finger3:

The espn 300 is not the be all end all of recruiting. If the kid can play, the kid can play, and it seems that our coaches think very highly of him as well.

He's a Bama lock I'm afraid. A lot of the players become gitty as soon as they get a Bama offer. As soon as Dormady got his offer he hurried up his visits. Not a coincidence. Pray that he falls in love with us this weekend.

If that were true, the other 3 QBs they whiffed on would have committed and Dormady wouldn't have gotten an offer.

I wouldn't say he is a lock, but they defintely are at the top and will be his likely destination.

I effin hate Saban! Hopefully Dormady is one of those kids not smitten with this little dwarf and tells him NO like Hurd did.

Can he play? His team went 2-8 last year. Torrance Gibson's team went 15-1 and won the Florida 5A state championship game 66-8.

Dormady reminds me of Zach Gentry (whose New Mexico team also had a losing record at 4-6) in that he's the latest "passing" (read: white) quarterback that some people here are rallying behind as an alternative to much better "mobile" QBs like Gibson or Francois.

We have plenty of other options at QB ahead of Dormady. There's no need to panic and accept a commitment from Dormady right now that might jeopardize our chances with those other guys.

Out of Dormady, Francois, Gibson, and Jones you think we could get one. But who knows.
