'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

I truly believe Butch wants to exit the Summer with a 2nd QB on board... Whoever that may be with Dormady, TG, or even Francois.

And instead of letting the dominoes fall and take who's left or get hung out to dry somehow, I think he wants to start/trigger the domino effect himself.

If Dormady does indeed plan to decide on Monday. I like our chances. Polish that turd Kiffy

I'm all for locking in that 2nd guy sooner than later if the staff can get it done.

You guys got all your eggs in the coker basket don't you? Is Cornwall after him if he sucks or gets injured?

No doubt all the eggs. If you watched our spring game you would agree that is the best strategy. Sadly if Coker doesnt cut it we will have a very frustrating year.

All we have is potential. No QB has proven anything for us yet. Don't know that Cornwell would be ready to try. Bateman looks like he has decent potential but probably not for this year, unless forced into action.

And then we find Dormady and people seem optimistic until copycat saban jumps on board the trail blazed by Butch again and offers and now everybody thinks he's going to the qb graveyard in Tuscaloosa

yes, Saban is very pleased to have butch in the SEC now so he can finally know who to recruit :)

But seriously Dormady is pretty much the last decent QB out there we have a shot at so it shouldn't be a shock we are recruiting him. We have tried for several (and had Town until stinkin Kiffin ruined that) and keep missing. We have great WR talent but not a great track record with QB's and not great depth to offer, so I don't blame kids for not coming.

Like I have said I wish we would not take one this class and get an elite guy next year, but I know Saban will take someone.

The fact that he is staying another night at UT with a decision coming up is a huge positive sign for you guys. Likely we will miss on another, although its not a shock since we came in late.

oh well... time to waste another scholly on an underrated kid that will never play, but will be a hero per our fanbase until he transfers, haha

Wait a second (jab 1)

Yes I bet Saban was so pleased that he climbed up in the sycamore tree just to see him (jab 2, biblical midget joke. Boom)

Not to be that guy but with the stable of backs y'all have do you really need an elite qb?

All you need is someone who doesn't fumble the handoff..

I have a feeling that a very transparent meeting between Butch and Gibson is about to happen.. No way we wait on a qb that long.. He's gotta do something or settle for whoever has room then.

Absolutely. There will be some noise this weekend:

1. Gibson feels pressure, and commits (unlikely)
2. Gibson feels pressure, knowing that Butch wants a QB now, and drops TN down his list to save face while Butch gets another guy (plausible.)
3. Dormandy is all in, and that resolves the Gibson issue entirely.

Something gon happen

I was thinking the same thing. Dormady is forcing our hand. He's not about to wait on Gibson to make a decision.

So, they might have to tell TG it's now or never.

Frustrating year? Yeah, you guys will only go like 10-3 after losing your BCS bowl game because you weren't motivated due to the fact you didn't make the final four. That'll pretty much be the extent of your "frustrating year" as long as Saban is your coach.

I would respond to all the guys that are star struck by Gibson in this thread but I promised Freak's alt I wouldn't. And I was planning on setting them straight too.

I'm in Knoxville this weekend with my girl and am going to try to get eyes on the camp. If I'm able to see anything I'll tell you how some of the guys look (Dormady stayed for today didn't he? Recent news has me confused on that point).

As long as your qualified to make that judgement.:good!:

It's not necessarily about cutting us from the lists. It's that we have an excellent opportunity available for a big time qb. Amazing WR talent. No one that has proven themselves at QB. And little depth on top of that.

And out of the QBs we are after:
Gentry - people thought we led, but he goes horns
Francois- seems that people think he's to be a nole
Gibson - people are all over the place but the consensus I gather is that it will be hard to keep him from the cheaters on the plains
Waller - wants to be a buck or a duck

And then we find Dormady and people seem optimistic until copycat saban jumps on board the trail blazed by Butch again and offers and now everybody thinks he's going to the qb graveyard in Tuscaloosa

So yes, I see QB as similar to our DT situation the last few years. We should be having to beat big timers off as they clamor to be the ones to get a spot yet we are still waiting and waiting.

I hope it doesn't lead to beating big timers off.
If that happens, I'm going to Get my Roll On, so I can Still Fly away and give the #1 Stunna to the Birdman.
