'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

A lot of butthurt on the part of some people who do not understand what this team needed on offense for the future.

We are not going to look like Auburn running the their spread. We have a lot more offensive weapons all over the field and we needed a QB who can keep the field wide open and take advantage of what the defenses will do to try and stop it.

We did not need to land another athlete to play QB. We have that already in Jennings and he will likely move to another position in time. As I said, there are a lot of young kids who just don't get it or understand what Butch has been working to build and why.

We didn't take a qb last cycle to make a big push this year. Just ask yourself if you are impressed with who we have now. I was looking for more than this. Hopefully this kid gets recruited over and we can keep some excitement for TG. Biggest problem area getting filled by a 3* kid no one really knows about... Jennings won't end up being a QB at UT IMO.

He will practice with the QBs for at least a year. Then the 16 kids come in. If he were to be moved that is when it would happen.

I am more than satisfied with who we have. I really wanted TG too but I would rather run a west coast offense, kinda like what green bay does. Get the ball out quick into your playmakers hand and take advantage of the mismatches. Plus we already have an athletic qb on board.

Just watched his film again, and I know it has been mentioned but he has a weird/incomplete throwing motion. He seems (to my un-professional eye) to step into the throw but not through it. It doesn't bother me because he can still make all the throws with it, I could easily see him being a better passer once that gets fixed, who knows it might be already and as I said he is a good passer even with the weirdness I saw. this is not a negative post, I was ready to take who ever the coaches took,

I do think they would have taken TG today had he committed. MY guess is he wanted to wait and the coaches took the next guy on their board.

Something tells me he didn't look like a 3* to the coaches when he camped here a couple days ago. I have faith in the Coaches. Dormady showed them what he can do so don't go by recruiting sites on this one.

You do realize he still has his senior season to lay right? What if he balls out this year and gets bumped up to a high 4*? Would that satisfy you? You really should trust the coaches. It's obvious that they see something in this kid.

For all we know Dormady could become the next Peyton Manning. Or better. Nobody knows what the future holds. Let's hold off judgement until after his senior year.

CBJ has been putting the full court press for quite awhile. Gibson was the #1 QB on the board.

I agreed though the coaches did not want to wait.

If TG wants to be at UT, COMMIT! He didn't and he's a fool if he thinks everyone he's considering is gonna wait on him. If he waits on NSD to commit he's gonna be the 2nd, 3rd in our case, QB taken in that particular class. QB position is too important. There's a reason why most 4* / 5* QBs COMMIT early.

This thread is already loaded with good bumps that should be fun to make when this guy is a consensus 4-star at year end.

This guy is a great complement to Jennings. Should be a good QB competition.

I know right? No way we miss out on two defensive players because of the QB we chose. Stupid people are stupid. And there are a lot of them out there.
