'15 TX RB Corey Dauphine

This is one of the best highlights of a Rb I have seen in a while. Shows power, speed, and vision. Just moved to top of Rb board imo.

Someone on here said they heard (at TOS I believe) he was at the top of the coaches board. Or they said the RB out of TX iirc so I assumed this is who they were talking about. I agree though, he looks like a great back. He would be a great fit for our offense and a nice complimet to Hurd as well.

"Top247 senior running back Corey Dauphine of Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas, who's currently committed to Texas Tech, told GoVols247 on Tuesday night that he's scheduled to take an official visit to Tennessee this weekend.

The 5-foot-11, 188-pound Dauphine has been committed to the Red Raiders for almost four months but has continued to hear from several other teams. He received a scholarship offer from Tennessee in late September, and Vols running backs coach Robert Gillespie traveled to Texas less than two weeks later to check on him.

Dauphine, who also went to Washington State on an official visit the weekend of Oct. 24, is a four-star prospect who's ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 242 overall prospect and No. 22 running back in the 2015 class."

Just watched his film and while impressive, his rushing numbers this year were surprisingly ordinary, IMO, especially for a guy with his speed: 183 carries for 1,232 yards (6.7 ypc) & 11 TDs. Still, that's a sizable improvement over his numbers last year: 95 carries for 507 yards (5.3 yards) & 13 TDs.

In Port Arthur Memorial's loss last week Dauphine was held to 49 yards on 20 carries.

Memorial returned 4 OL starters this year and they were supposed to be one of the strengths of the team. But even Dauphine's much higher-rated teammate, consensus No. 2 all-purposed back & Baylor commit Kameron Martin, only averaged 5.9 ypc this year.

Not that it matters, but I still like Bussey, Love, Frasier and even Vaughn over Dauphine at this point.

Wow if he is coming to visit then i have a new top 3.

Bussey
Dauphine
Vaughen

Frazier comes in fourth just because he just seems like he is not interested in UT IMO! But if he was interested he would be in there somewhere. Love comes in 5th. I want nothing but big, tough, fast RB's. Dauphine already breaks tackles so all he needs to do is put on some muscle.

You think 6.7 YPC is surprisingly ordinary?

Dauphine is just insanely fast with good power. I think some are underrating him. I'd be happy with any of these guys at this point but Love and Dauphine give us another element to go along with Hurd. Either of those two can take an ordinary play to the house because of their speed. Teams offensive success are generally measured in the amount of explosive plays they can generate on offense; do you honestly see Reid or Vaughn being a more explosive player with the ball in their hands?

his numbers are fine. he shares carries with another great RB and Texas FB down there in that Area is no joke. Its not like the competition Damien Harris is playing against up there in Kentucky.

I like the freshness he would come in with. Whereas a guy like Reid has been taking a heavy load in HS.

This guy looks underdeveloped physically, especially in his legs. Give him one year and about 15-20 lbs of muscle added on those legs and he will be a beast.

Swap Bussey and Vaughn and that would be my list personally. I think Dauphine, Love, and Bussey are all really good players. Vaughn looks good as well but I worry about the level of competition there.

Yeah, I think i'm higher on Vaughn than most. Very natural runner.

Which is it, 5'11 or 6'1

Bussey
Dauphine
Vaughn
Love

imo - Sorry but I have been leaning toward bigger, tougher RBs these days so Love is last on my list. I want another Hurd in the back field. Hurd comes out and we don't miss a beat!!!!

Talked to my people last night and my guy was actually the first to talk to Dauphine, and actually told Gillespie about him (he actually went to Tech). While visiting prospects in Texas he talked to this kid and the interest in Tennessee was there so he asked how committed he was to Tech and he replied "not really coach, I wanna learn more about Tennessee."

I know his commitment isn't solid but thought this was worth sharing. I hope we land this one and fr what I hear he's one of the top prospects on our board at that position.

I think it's funny that rivals can type "6'1 180 4.4" and then that huge list of offers, then type "5.5 3*."
