Cherry most likely will need a red shirt year as well. Big time hitter, but has work to do in speed and coverage. It's a good thing that we can finally get in some really good talents, let them red shirt, and let them progress unlike we've been able to do in the past.

I could see Cherry being a badass on kickoff coverage. He'll knock someone's head off in that scenario

No doubt that he probably could if necessary...but I think it's a waste of his athleticism and coverage skills to ask him to be a run stuffer. He practically lives in the backfield and is pretty damn solid in coverage and I don't think you want to mess that up by packing another 15 pounds on him when you could just as easily have Curt back there.

JMO, though.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but couldn't JRM make the defensive calls from his OLB position?

Kind of like AJ in the Utah State game? :)I'm curious if more starters play ST come Saturday. The FL game is the biggest game we have had in Neyland in some time. Neyland is going to be deafening :rock:

^ Agreed. We should be talking about him more. Pure speed Rush end, Stripling is gonna be like a mad scientist with the talent we have coming in next year.

Really want to keep this guy-particularly with the uncertainty regarding Dylan Jackson and Taylor's athleticism allowing him to potentially play a few different positions.

Really want to keep him....but with talk of Kyle Phillips possibly coming on board, I won't worry too much. We'll be alright.
