'15 VA DE Darrell Taylor (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Cecil Cherry is taking a visit to TX, even though he posts on Twitter like he's one of the biggest VFL's there is. So, it is different from one individual to the next.

Plus, many had projected Taylor to VT. Sure, it's a risk, but it doesn't = a flip, either. They were probably working him hard just to get the visit. It's up to our staff, to try and convince him the future is brighter in Knoxville. Which it is. That's why I don't worry as much.

I am with you. Until I hear of an official decommit, I am not worried at all.

Situations like Santos, Peters, and others is why. It's proven more often than not if a recruit is taking visits, you're at risk of losing them. I'm sure USCe fans said they were cool with Austin Clark recently taking a visit to VTech as he was just having fun. Well until he flipped to the hokies.

Same fans who say, "let the kid have his fun and take his visits" are the same ones who say if CBJ can just get a recruit on campus UT can flip him. Works both ways ya know. If a committed kid is taking trips, he is in no way 100% anything. JMO

I have a question for you. Why is CBJ still recruiting for the 2015 class? Wasn't it supposed to be over already? I mean we are already full yet the staff continues to recruit. Which goes completely against what you have said.

Your second paragraph is ridiculous.

Favorite that we have a chance with or favoite overall? I love the guy as well and I agree that he's a ridiculous athlete especially for a DE. But I don't see how you can think he's better than Sweat of you're looking at it objectively. Unless you just meant your favoite guy we have a legit chance at. Don't get me wrong though, there are very few players that I would trade Taylor for.

Sweat is the only DE I like better honestly. You are correct though, my comment was in regards to DEs we have a legit shot at.

Oh I know. He actually told me that the 2015 recruiting class should be done by October and the coaches should only focus on 2016 at that point.

26 commits. The class was full by Oct. I know a lot of fans continue to expect some mass exodus of current 3* commits so 4-5* kids can take those spots. As each day passes it appears that is less likely to happen and the current class may be how it ends up on NSD. I'd bet the UT coaches have shifted their focus to 2016 recruiting in a big way. JMO of course.

Umm, maybe you should go visit the Rocky Reid thread then. Sounds like he may be flipping to UGA, and we are looking to upgrade that spot with a better fit with Love and/or Bussey.

Nope. There's gonna be a few get shirts and is bringing in more talent

There is a lot of talk in a lot of threads saying UT will "upgrade" at all sorts of positions while dropping some current commitments. Same thing has been being said for months. Still waiting to see if it actually happens.

Of course it is going to happen.

NSD is three months away.

Dude get over yourself. It's November and our coaches clearly are still recruiting. But believe whatever you want so that you may sleep tighter on your pillow sir. Glad your not our recruiting coordinator. 😀

I've pointed out that there were several de-commits in 2014 by now. Other than Woods because of his "issues", the commitments have been solid. Is CBJ waiting till mid January before he starts dropping commitments to make room? I mean fans have been saying at least 5-6 current commits won't be Vols come NSD. Still waiting for all this action to take place.

Orange tinted glasses are thick here.... Taylor better than Sweat is a massive stretch. Sweat is the best pure athlete in the 2015 class.

Sweat very well could be the best player in the whole class. I just like Taylor, because he is in the mold of Jevon Kearse. Kearse was my favorite player when I started watching football.

I hope we hold on here. This is who I can see taking on the role that Maggitt and Weatherd are playing now. With the other players we would have around him, that would be dangerous.

All you Twitter warriors keep saying go vols to him, nothing to crazy. Let him see Vols everyday, I don't wanna lose this recruit either. Has tons of ability, going to be exciting to see if be pans out at OLB/DE. Tons of ability, love his speed on the outside.

“i’m still hearing from other schools, but my loyalty lies with tennessee,” said taylor, who’s ranked by 247sports as the nation’s no. 214 overall prospect and no. 12 weakside defensive end in the 2015 class.

“i’m probably going to still take all five of my official visits. But when it’s time for signing day, my signing will be with tennessee.”

“it’s kind of hard to envision me changing my mind,” taylor said. “it’s just the way that i feel about tennessee that would make it hard for me to change my mind. I think the program is a rising program. It’s going to get better over time, and i’m looking forward to making it better.

“i’m just going to see what other schools have and just learn some more stuff while i’m on the road. I don’t think anybody’s going to change my mind, but i’m just going to see.”
