'15 VA DT Tim Settle

Not exactly. J.J. Watt did play for Butch Jones one year at Central Michigan in 2007. While there, he played tight end and caught eight passes for 77 yards. He transferred to Wisconsin, redshirted in 2008 and played two years at defensive end (2009-10) before declaring for the draft in 2011. Stripling was at Central Michigan in 2009 and Cincinnati in 2010. J. J. Watt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and Steve Stripling Bio - UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics

My bad. Thanks for the info :good!:

He's been putting guys in the NFL almost as long as Orgeron has. He was Lloyd Carr's Dline coach for years at Michigan.

Bingo. Strip knows what he is doing. That will become clear to the rest of the SEC soon enough.

I think the staff as a whole are great position coaches.

Not all would be considered "great" position coaches on their own but we do have some good ones. Plus they all work really well together and seem to genuinely get along. That's what makes the staff as a whole great. JMO

Definitely agreed. Chemistry among the staff really does matter. These guys are working together all the time. On the trail and on the field.

I also agreed that willie is 1b. He has a lot of guys in the pros.

This is honestly pretty disheartening. I know Jones has named us his leader now, but I'd rather have high school guys at this point. JUCO is great and all and if Jones wants to come to Tennessee, bring it on, Bubba! I'll be happy to have you! But, I feel like we need more guys with multiple years in the system and time to develop than one year starters who blow up then declare for the draft in December. I really was feeling like Settle, McKenzie, and Jones was entirely possible, but whenever we get bumped from a leader position it feels like we just can't close the distance again. Oh well, bring on Mr. Jones!

Don't lose hope...we are still looking good with Tuttle as well imo.

Maybe once McKenzie commits that will sway him back our way...Still a long way to go but we need a domino to fall to start picking up some momentum again.

Makes me wonder if all the 'SHY' tweets from coaches this weekend made him rethink where he stood in UT's priority list?
