'15 VA DT Tim Settle

Did you see where we ranked last year in the SEC in rushing defense? I think it was around 12 or 13. Obviously, we weren't too tough against the run.

Did you see where we were the only team that played 3 of the top ten rushing offenses in the country and had zero depth behind the starters? But no, why would we want a DT who was drafted in the League when we could go back to Hood and Ayres?

Pump yo' brakes, bro. You're making way too much sense for deeze haterz. An excessive number of facts in one post could fry their medulla oblongata. :)

It's exactly why our rushing defense numbers were so awful.

Did you see anywhere in my comment that said I didn't want McCullers? I'm thankful he chose to be a VFL, as he was a much better option than some of the guys on the roster at that time. However, IMO, when this roster turnover is complete, he most likely would be good depth versus a starter, if he were still here at that time.

Also, since we are in the SEC, we will play against some of the top rushing offenses every single year. That's just part of it.

So, you're saying "He sucked...but you're glad we had him on our team?"

Can't believe we're having this discussion again. Tell me with a straight face that you honestly believe his effort was good last year? Point blank, I hope he does great in the league, but he did not give his all for Tennessee. He got drafted on size and potential alone, not production. I can't site here and sing his praises because I think the team deserved more effort from him, that's all. Just effort.

So does this play out like the DJ Jones situation did last year? UT keeps recruiting him, stays in contact, and is able to look at him again after a little Juco time?

If grades are indeed in play, could not hurt to show the kid a little love throughout the process. Like DJ, the staff could decide to go in another direction down the road.

Also with so much young dline talent, transfers are a possibility. If Tuttle, Mckenzie, and Quay all make it in, the you have Mixon, Sawyers, and Mosley. Someone's gotta be the odd man out.

Nah. That's called Depth. It's a crazy concept we're gonna have here now.

Not enough playing time for that many talented young men. O'brien is just a Soph. That much talent in just few classes=attrition.

But it's not bad, it's a good thing. Look at Alabama. They lead the nation in "medical" casualties.

Outside of Mosley, I don't think anyone we have at DT, right now, is remotely close to being an All-SEC level player.

So, if we could land 4 quality DT's in this class, that covers a lot of lost ground. That's a 2 deep rotation in one class. Why fuss about that? IMHO, O'brien and Mixon will be recruited over. Why? Because even the staff has said we are largely under-sized at that position. And Janzek said it is a "concern."

O'brien has had at least 2yrs to bulk up in the S&C program, but he doesn't look any bigger than the day he stepped on campus.

I specifically said it was a good thing. How an I fussing? And I think they want them around 280. I'm pretty sure O'brien came in around 300
