'15 VA DT Tim Settle

Maybe they feel just as good or better about Picou. He has an elite offer list and is a highly rated guy as well. I like his game a lot, he has an excellent first step and quickness to go along with good size (he's about 290 now and I could see him easily getting up to about 310 at UT). The fact that he is the 3rd best DT in our class is crazy because he's a beast in his own right and would be a take for almost any team. This is such a ridiculous DT haul that Butch and Co pulled off. I wish peole would stop writing him off but it could end up being a good thing because he's going to surprise a lot of people that forgot about him.

For some reason many of our fans underrate this guy. He is the most athletic DT we have committed and has a high upside.

Richmond will probly start at RT for a year at Ole Miss then go to left after their current LT leaves next year hes a 1st rounder.

Possibly but I can't imagine anyone that is a decent team has as bad an o line as we do currently. With a decent oline, we beat UGA and are at least in the OU game till the end. Almost all of the talent we have is returning. All of that said I will concede I have no idea of what the situation is at Ole Miss.

McKenzie doesn't believe you! :lolabove:

McKenzie is a freak....to be as athletic as he is at 330 pounds is ridiculous. Don't underestimate Picou though, he is very athletic as well. He has very good quickness and a great first step. He brings a different element to the position than K-Mac and King-Tut. All 3 guys can do it all but they all have different areas in which they excel the most.

1) McKenzie is just a freak of nature. He has the size and strength (6'3" ~ 330) to take on doubtle teams and clog running lanes. But he also has the athleticsm to collapse the pocket and put pressure on the QB. There's not much the guy can't do at a high level. 2) Tuttle is in the same mold as K-Mac. He, too, is a big/strong dude (6'3" ~ 315) who can anchor the interior of the defensive line. He sheds blocks very well and makes plays in the backfield. I think he is a bit faster than K-Mac which allows him to pursue and run down plays from behind. Add all of that to his quickness and ability to put pressure on the QB and you've got another beast in the middle. 3) Quay brings more quickness to the position and I think he had the best first step of the 3. He's not quite as big as the other 2 at this point but he still has great size (6'3" ~ 290). He too sheds blocks very well on running plays and with some added weight will be another guy who can clog the running lanes for us on a consistent basis. His quickness is his most impressive attribute IMO.

We've got a dirty trio at DT for the future. They're going to be a nightmare for the opposing teams for years to come. And the best part is we got 3 quality guys in this class so we can rotate and keep them fresh. We went from looking under rocks for DTs under Dooley to getting a commit from 2 - 5 star DTs in the same class and still got another 4 star to go along with them. Butch is the man.

I just watched his highlights from the past couple of years and wow. I knew he was a good prospect but damn I didn't realize how much potential this guy has. He has got as much talent and athleticism as any DT in this class imo. If he is willing to put in the work and dedicate himself to football he could play the game for a long time. He kind of reminds me of Haynesworth in that regard bc when he is motivated and playing hard there is not much the guy can't do. We led for him at one point, I wonder where we stand with him now. I know we already have an amazing DT haul but if this guy wants in and has the grades to qualify there is absolutely no way you turn a guy with his potential down. A class consisting of McKenzie, Tuttle, Quay, and Settle would be historic and we would have one of, if not, the best rotations in the country when these guys are sophmores, juniors, and seniors. I know there has been talk about grade concerns but I don't know exactly where he stands there. One person says he has work to do on his grades and VN takes it, runs with it, and turns it into he has no chance of qualifying. I'm not sure how much of that is true and how much is speculation. And if he doesnt qualify I say we take the DJ Jones route and place him in a Juco but hopefully with different results this time. I'm rambling but my point being that this guy has as much potential as any DT in this class imo. And I know it's a dream but damn I would love to have this guy in Knoxville.

Chuma Edoga tweeted last night that he thinks we get Tim. Interesting.

I have hard time seeing it. We haven't really heard any hot rumors we were his favorite. And speculation on his grades. I do know I would be more than happy if everything checks out with his grades, I wouldn't mind another top rated DT, especially if Sawyers could be bouncing out.

Chuma Edoga probably hasn't talked to Settle in months. I'm sure he told him that at some point, but Settle won't make it onto an SEC roster with his grades right now. Maybe after a year or two in JUCO.

I also don't think Burrell is a full lock to OSU.

I actually remember seeing an article and it had a blurb from someone saying that if we pursued him we would most likely land him. I'll try to find the article.
