'15 VA DT Tim Settle

When it comes to a DT haul Settle, Tuttle, McKenzie and Picou would definitely be the best haul ever in the NCAA.

Settle had the opportunity to showcase his skills and from all accounts failed miserably. Unmotivated, slow, and lacked basic fundamentals.

Granted he could turn it around and become a great player and maybe being along side someone like a KMac or Tuttle would push him to be so but you still would be taking a huge risk.

Maybe I'm crazy but I just don't see the hype with this one.

I think he could be dominate but has seemed slow, sloppy, unmotivated in the few times I've seen him. Add in academic concerns and there's no way I'm cutting anyone else to make a spot for him especially with our needs and our current DT haul. Just my two cents though.
A nice and thought out two cents. I agree with you

I agree, but they might move him to DE, because of his quickness. He's played both in HS.

Have you seen our DEs? Barnett, Hendrix, Henderson, Ford , and the Va kid today. Those guys are on another level athletically. This is where you build top shelf defenses. Athleticism across the front line is silly.

Remember when we were depressed about not getting D.J. Johnson?

Mckenzie, Tuttle, and Settle on the same line? Holy sh*t

Would be epic....but highly unlikely. Something is just not right about Settle's recruitment. A guy like this, you put the full court press on....and it just doesn't seem like we've done that. Just don't think we're that crazy about him.

May have something to do with the fact that the coaches probably felt really good about getting Kahlil and Shy.

I still think we should pursue Settle. Put him in S&C program and get him eating right, and this guy could turn into an absolute monster.

Although, you're probably right about the coaches seeming tentative, as they know a whole lot more about the kid than any of us do.

Somebody tweet him a picture of Neyland and say I know 102,454 who will be there with you.

Maybe they feel just as good or better about Picou. He has an elite offer list and is a highly rated guy as well. I like his game a lot, he has an excellent first step and quickness to go along with good size (he's about 290 now and I could see him easily getting up to about 310 at UT). The fact that he is the 3rd best DT in our class is crazy because he's a beast in his own right and would be a take for almost any team. This is such a ridiculous DT haul that Butch and Co pulled off. I wish peole would stop writing him off but it could end up being a good thing because he's going to surprise a lot of people that forgot about him.
