'15 VA OT Austin Clark

Twss in a creepy way

You guys are so lucky being able to do these jokes that rhyme with "Matt's shot, he bled." I got an infraction for it a couple days ago. Won't be making that mistake on here again. Learned my lesson.

Wat!?

We got a CB prediction this morning.

All of the CB's now say UT. I think Tennessee has been his favorite for some time. I have felt for a while his commitment hinged on a few other things happening. Maybe he got the green light from the staff. Maybe he is tired of waiting and will pick another school a la Sterling Johnson. It's a month away, so we'll see.

An OL class of Jones, Stewart, Clark, and Richmond would go along way in solidifying depth for '15 and beyond. Add to that a DL class of McKenzie, Butcher, Jackson, Settle, Phillips, and Jones and we will be some happy fans come '16 and '17.

Sterling wasn't tired of waiting for us, he was tired of waiting and tried committing to us because Vols>Klemsun but we turned him down.

I think Clark is a take, but I thought Harrell and Sterling would be too so what do I know.

You could be right with Sterling. I just got the feeling he saw the writing on the wall that he was being slow played and tried to force his way into UTs class and then his concerns with being slow played were realized.

I also agree that just about any other year Clark would be a take. This year, I'm not so sure. I tell myself the only way they take Clark is if Richmond is headed to osu. I could be very wrong and would not be upset at all if Clark ends up in Orange as the kid has SEC level talent. I do hope he makes sure he can commit to UT before he tries to do so, IF that is his plan. :p

Va Tech rivals site is saying they will be at his announcement. Isn't that usually a sign of where he will end up?

It will be interesting to see what happens. As we've said in the past, his stock somewhat fell this fall with some people.

Knew this would be the case. He hasn't had great reviews this camp cycle and now he wants to jump on somewhere before the ship sails, ala Sterling.

More from Fortenberry...

I think the biggest thing with Clark, after seeing him multiple times, is just what is he?

He's not a left tackle in college, and I really wonder if he's a right tackle either. So, that leaves him at guard and I think he has potential there but Tennessee, in a limited scholarship year, really needs some tackle bodies.

The more I see and watch Dylan Jackson's development the more I think he has a really good shot at sticking on the d-line and growing into a 6-6, 270-pound defensive end. I think that means they need to really connect on another tackle for sure if not two more.

I'm sure Tennessee wants to take five offensive linemen after only signing three last year.

I just want to clarify that I'm not saying he's not a take or anything like that, just saying I think it will be interesting how this will play out and I don't think it's a done deal or anything like that that some people think it is.

I can't see us turning down this guy but numbers (LV's best friend ) are tight. So, who knows. But, we need to build depth in the trenches on both sides. Prospects are just that prospects. All of them will not pan out.
