'15 VA OT Austin Clark

They are doing pretty well, but most of their top targets are already on board.

They also are bringing in a very underwhelming class in 2014. Of 21 players (with 10 4*'s) they have 4-5 players that will not qualify, including 4* Dante Sawyers, 4* Dexter Wideman, 3* Kalen Ritchie and much-needed JUCO Jhaustin Thomas.

They will bring in two top-250 players this summer.

I get that. I'm just surprised to see them getting off to this quick of a start and closing on sone guys early. Especially with Spurrier certainly nearing the end of his career.

The question I have is with the huge need at Tackle, who else to they really have a good shot with outside of Richmond? I'd say they need at least 3 quality "true" tackles in this class.

Alex Givens. We might have a shot with Tyree St. Louis and Emanuel McGirt too

My thoughts on Clark and Givens is that with thomas being a surprise and looking good at RT, Richmond can be the LT of the future, I'd rather have Clark who I think could be an extremely good guard and could play tackle in an emergency situation like an injury over givens.

I agree. Makes very good sense to me.

“Tennessee was one of the first programs to show really, really big interest in me and that means a lot,” Clark told IT. “They’re really never stopped trying to reach out and build a relationship with me. I like a lot. That’s something I don’t just forget.”

“I’ve been to Tennessee four times now and every time I’m there I just love it more and more. Everything about the place is great. I just love it all,” Clark said. “It’s a great place to be. I love the fans, the traditions, the coaches.”

“Tennessee, it just feels like home when I’ve visited,” Clark said. “It’s like a home away from home."

So basically if Clark commits we have 3 guards long snapper and we're only taking one tackle in Richmond? Does not sound like butch and company would set them selves up like that with one true tackle

I also think Tennessee is in good shape with Lexington Virginia's Austin Clark. Clark is about the same size as Richmond and every bit the prospect that Richmond is. Penn State and Ohio State are Tennessee's biggest challenges for Clark at this point. Tennessee's staff has been recruiting Clark longer than any other school and Clark and family are comfortable here. He is announcing soon. To be honest, I thought Clark would already have announced publicly for Tennessee. The delay makes me wonder if either Clark or Tennessee have cooled a bit on one another. I still believe he ends up at Tennessee when it is all said and done.

Jones and Clark are guys that could play either OG or OT. I am rather certain that Jones will be an OT for us.
