Paul has been hinting that Richmond is all Bama right now. He's said some very subtle things, that if you follow his history, tells you that his recruitment is heading in the wrong direction.

A Ryan Johnson commit in the '16 class sure would be nice right about now and take a little heat off the need at that position.

And we can't afford to wait on Richmond any more than we could Torrance Gibson at QB. That said, I'm not questioning CBJ and the coaching staff, I'm certain they have contingencies. It's just that the OL situation currently looks pretty desperate to someone like me who's not in the know, and I've been saying so since last year when I didn't think we took enough O-Linemen either.

I think Alex Givens may be that contingency. Just from what I've been able to glean. Also in on a few more guys.

I think Richmond will take a look at our serious need at LT and that will win him over in the end. Deff starting to get nervous about that one though.

I would hope so. He'd have a legit shot to start as a true freshman and for sure as a sophomore. But I think his recruitment is trending in the wrong direction for sure and when you figure he's from Memphis....well that is never good. Too many crazy outside influences whether they be Bama people, Ole Mi$$, or whomever. The fact that he is taking unofficial visits before his decision but none planned to TN isn't a good sign IMO.

It is going to be the Gamecocks...our coaches probably should have pushed earlier. I would rather have him on board and deal with it later if we get Richmond and Givens then lose him to SC.

Paul still thinks our Coaches just don't think he will play T at the next level so I guess if that is the case it could be the right choice given our number crunch this year.

I don't think they felt they had a spot to put him early on. When Riley left, I'd bet that is when they started to push as his leaving was unexpected and his scholarship spot they had not figured would come open.

I've never been a fan of taking commitments you know you would drop IF another kid tried to commit, so I'm glad that didn't play out.

I still think it's Richmond at OT and that's it. I believe Givens as of today is the back up plan for Drew.

I just don't see any way that we only take 3 OL this cycle, even if you count Dylan as a project 4th OL. Still think we take another OT along with Richmond.

Montrell, I may be wrong about this, but the fact that Drew is a private school kid in Memphis makes it very different. He may not choose UT in the end, but we are very much in it. I believe he has been to UT several times. All of the "other" factors actually point toward us.

IF they can add a couple more closer to NSD I do think OT and DT would be the next takes and probably in that order depending on who was still available at OT that late.

If Austin clark could play right tackle I say take him. Richmond can take the left tackle spot. But if he's not agile enough to play tackle then we should move onto someone else. I'm sure that's what out coaches are thinking because we are loaded at guard for a few years. Sec Tackles are hard to come by nowadays. I say we need two this cycle.

Yeah, that is the main concern with him. Thought UT could get in it for him, but with Richmond still 3 months from deciding, Givens could be off the board before Drew does anything. Gilliam would still be in play I'd assume. Maybe CBJ tries to get back in with some committed to other school guys as well.

More names will be floating around later in the year. Right now I think Richmond is a lock to UT so I'm not worrying. Even if we just get Richmond this OL class will be a success

Yup. I agree. 3 for sure and Jackson as a who knows 2+ years from now. It would be fine. Hopefully get Johnson and Mathews early for 2016 and we'll be doing great.

Givens could make the decision for Ole Pi$$ but I know him personally and I know he does really like us a lot though. Home state school and he has a lot of friends coming here as well.

Matthews goes to aTm IMO but yeah Johnson would be nice. 2-5 every year is the way to go on the OL
