'16 AL ATH Tadarryl Marshall (FORMER UT commit 4/28/15)

Actually, there is a big difference in the words. The term redneck was coined in reference to the miners in the early 20th century that took up arms in opposition to the way they were being treated by coal companies. Redneck comes from the red neckerchiefs they wore. It was a really bad time in American History and the use of the term redneck now by someone is done in ignorance to the origin of the term.

I always thought the term "redneck" originated from farmers who worked in the fields and would end up with very red necks. Kinda cool to see a variation of the origin. Either way, it seems that a redneck is a person to be proud of.

This is the same story I've always heard.

Best playmaker in the state of Alabama...............without even seeing him play one snap nor anyone else in the state........

I Either way, it seems that a redneck is a person to be proud of.

Despite its origin, in today's vernacular it most definitely is not.

Southern, country, even hillbilly yes, be proud.

Redneck = prejudiced, rascist, ignorant socially, rude, crude, spouse/child abuser, etc.
Just my opinion, but being called a redneck is an insult

What's the difference in a Tennessee redneck and a Bammer redneck?

Yeah. Again that's what film is for little guy.

So do coaches go to their opponents practice during game week? I mean... according to you the only way to tell how good a player is if they see them in person.

I've always heard it used in a negative light - painting someone as less than.

Example: When someone gets irritated by a coaches play calling, and then wants that coach to be "fahred".
Seemingly because, the person is impatient, immature, or lacking in football knowledge they are then portrayed as a "red".

Oh lord help me. Rednecks? Seriously? I think you need to seriously put some more thought into your positions, and reflect on what makes a word bad.

So you are comfortable referring to somebody by this term?

If so... describe the person you give that title to.

It's no big deal, i just personally despise the word...

There you go again losing your ****.

There you go again losing your ****.

There you go again, deflecting. Because you have nothing informative to offer.

Your logic sucks. It's not the end of the world.

I guess nobody can tell how good Tom Brady is from watching all the Super Bowls New England has won if they weren't at the actual Super Bowl.

Or, how bad Vince Young is.

My point is that I doubt you can name another player outside of Marshall in the state. I know this because you are the only person on God's green earth that would call him the best offensive weapon in the state. But, by all means, keep making the claim after watching a 5 minute Hudl clip.

Time out.. I'm calling for a 'cooling off' period and giving you 'space to destroy'.. Now go to your respective corners, tear your stuff up and then you may come back to center ring and be friends again......

I wonder how many kids get "considered." Still a nice honor.

Exactly.

There's a lot to like about him. Anytime you can create that much instant offense... you have a chance to be a really good player.

Breakerboy mentioned that he plays in one of the mid-level classifications. He dominates. He is supposed to. Because that's all he can do. People shouldn't put much stock in that (what level he competes at)

All the stuff I said aside... if Butch takes a commitment from you, that must mean you are a heck of a player. We are in elite recruiting status now, and with few numbers this year we have to be selective in who we sign.

I'm telling you right now, he will not be a signing day casualty.
And two years from now we will all be glad he is a Vol.
