What if...

Coach Z "finds another opportunity" after signing day, Velus Jones signs with the good guys because he knows Tee Martin replaces Z?

Conspiracy...

Go on.... We're listening...

Has Elder hired an OC yet? I'm wondering if that's his opportunity that he finds after NSD. And I'm not saying Tee is replacing him either.

In this instance, you are correct because "Trojan Horse" is a compound noun. I was referring to a horse from Troy rather than the mythological weapon used by the Greeks. For that reason, I did not capitalize The "h" in the word "horse".

In the example sentence the author of the dictionary didn't capitalize the H in horse either yet it remained a noun.

Just pointing that out.

Condom or Trojan can be used as either a noun or an adjective. It depends on what function you assign to them in the sentence you construct. I could say, "The kid is a condom because he is a condom head." In the first instance, "condom" functions as a noun because it renames the kid. In the second instance, it functions as an adjective because it describes the kid. Nouns name things and adjectives describe things. In form, both condom and Trojan are nouns when they stand alone. But function (How a word is used.) always trumps form.

"The Trojan looked at the Trojan horse." One "Trojan" here is an adjective and the other is a noun. Think function rather than form and it is easy to tell. :hi:

It is actually a predicate nominative. Don't know why you guys got trapped in the line of thought that it could only be one or the other.

Predicate nominatives are generally words that redefine the subject of a sentence. They come with linking verbs (is, was, are, etc). "Clyde is a dog." "Eric Berry, having fought and defeated cancer, is a hero in my book."

The more you know :hi:

If we could have a Jones/Calloway combo it would be a nasty downfield threat in the future. Hard to cover two studs at once.

Velus is someone I want to have badly. He is so underrated and could ignite the offense in one play. I would rather have him over Mecole Hardman or any other receiver.
