'16 FL CB Tyler Byrd (UT Commit 2/2/16)

You mean the same staff who brought in Lemond Johnson, Riyhad Jones, and Dontavius Blair? that staff?

Lemond Johnson was a HS recruit IIRC and Riyahd was expected to contribute early, but he had that leg problem. Blair is a guy that every school wanted, he just didnt pan out.

Guess we won't know where henderson falls until this spring. I'll reserve judgement though, he deserves his chance to shine just like the rest of our newcomers do. I'm just not sold on him doing anything besides giving us some depth, for now at least. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Only 4 spots left on the Tennessee Roster for 2016 commits. I know 3 that I would love to have. @CHECK_UP_ @_williej08 and a special friend😌

I think we are pretty loaded at CB. Aside from Sutton and Martin, Abernathy, Miller, Gaulden, and Osborne are all sophomores or under. 3 were four stars. You also add Henderson, who the staff wouldn't have brought in unless he can contribute immediately. Safety is where we need help. Need to add a dynamic safety to Kelly, Berry, and Griffin (unless they move Gaulden).

I don't see the staff bringing in a JUCO corner if they feel we are loaded.

No we are not slow playing this one. Could be the best DB in our class if we pull him.

I actually agree with you- he would be a huge get for us. But the way Butch and the staff sees it may not be the way you or I do. Spots are limited. I believe Hardman has all but moved on but the staff may think that way. They've had him circled since way early on in recruiting. But I don't really know. I hope they know better than to hold out for something that ain't gonna happen

Isn't Miller pretty small for safety? I remember seeing him listed at 5'9" or something like that.

He lacks the speed and athleticism to play corner. I personally never understood that recruitment. He might be a nice kid and i know played at a big time school in Texas but he's not an sec caliber athlete.

Translation - Miller will start across from Sutton day 1 and be top 5 pick

Well, they took Henderson before they knew what Sutton was going to do. I goes it all depends on how you want to define loaded. But we now have quality depth at CB with some good, young talent, especially if they keep Gaulden there. The return of Sutton allows Osborne to develop instead of throwing him into the fire.

Not sure about him not being fast and athletic enough. His tape was good coming out of high school. He was lockdown. Not a lot of picks or big plays, but he got the job done, was stuck to his man like gorilla glue, and made the plays he needed to. I was commenting on his size. Just seems a bit small to play safety.
