'16 FL OT Marcus Tatum (UT commit 1/11/16)

I'd love to get both. I was just asking because of our limited class size and the fact that Dickerson seems trending to FSU

I believe we are in better shape with dickerson than some think

His recruitment has been really back and forth. VQ seems to imply we're the team to beat and then Auburn or FSU seems to be trending, then back to UT, and so on.

I don't get FSU..win a NC and play for another with JW, but it is looking all downhill for them now to me. IMO it is the Defense that seems to be going downhill. That NC year D was a stout upper SEC quality squad. They are back to being a acc level squad.

Tatum could be really good, he has the frame and the footwork, but he's gonna need a year or two minimal to make an impact, the kid weighed just south of 250 pounds for most of this season. That just won't cut it in the SEC.

But I think LD is going to FSU, and we take Tatum and redshirt him and put him on the all you can eat buffet meal plan

Wasn't the Humphries kid we missed on that went to UF, really light too coming out of HS? IIRC he was just a little north of 250 comin out and was a 5*. He gained a lot of weight quickly...maybe Will G hooked him up...

The great thing is guys, we don't need any of this years OL recruits to immediately play. The times have changed. And the OL this offense needs are not behemoth bulldozers, but lighter more athletic types that have a NASTY attitude toward defensive players that get in their way.

Very young team. They'll be good in a year or two. They had several freshman starting or in the two deep on defense (ex. Josh sweat and derwin James)

I just dont see FSU being the annual scary behemoth it appeared they were about to be. I think I prefer Butch's long-term plan for becoming a reloading type team. Jimbo's personal problems may have distracted him a little.

?

He won the title in year 4 and made the playoffs in year 5.
They just went 10-3 and played in a NY6 game after losing a Heisman winning first overall pick QB.

What is the difference in approach?

Based on lastest Intel from Scout and ITG.

We'll see if he OV on 1/22.

It's no coincidence that a late OL offer sent out this past week and UF started pushing for those KY OL commits.

Spot on Vols are getting a gem. Tough break for UF because they need tackles.

If he keeps recruiting like he did in 2015, they'll be fine. They had a top 5 class while only taking 20 recruits!

Tackle isn't a need for us now, we need guards. We had 2 freeman start at tackle at times.
I still think if he visits uf he ends up there but not sure with Daytona kids

That's an interesting take seeing as Ivey, Sharpe, and Johnson are the only true tackles and they have been recruiting Tatum and others so hard. Tackle is only OL position left on recruiting board. Hey I'm not knocking it I'd take a highly rated OG too if room permitted.

You can never have too many good tackles and Tatum is very important but our guard play has been pretty bad. Can never have too many ol on roster. We will find out soon where he commits

Home-state school Florida still might be tough to beat for Tatum, but sources believe the Vols currently have some momentum with him going into Monday's announcement. If nothing changes over the next couple of days, one source said there's a good chance he will choose Tennessee.
