'16 FL OT Marcus Tatum (UT commit 1/11/16)

Definitely as miss. He's top 3 OL and #1 OT in Fl. Has the length and footwork you want in a future LT.

.

Crazy that he is regarded top tackle in FL but top 40 in country. Dont make sense with these sites opinions ha

This is an athletic guy. With Butch putting in some new wrinkles to the offense, let him play some fullback lined up in front of Hurd till he puts on about 45-50 pounds.

Good ole "we didn't want him anyway"

We def needed and wanted him. Though our guard play is unproven we have young depth. We only have 3 tackles on our roster, 2 go down and we're playing Mac's dog. Two guards go down and we're in trouble but at least have bodies. Tatum is a huge need and you guys getting hurts UF more than it helps you. win win for vols.

Would he have redshirted at UF?

absolutely, but in a pinch (injures) and coaches deem no better options as scarce as tackle situation is, not that unlikely if he added some weight that it would be burned if two of Ivey, Johnson, Sharpe go down. My UF friends may be confusing talent with depth, our tackle talent is better but guard depth stronger. If Jan recruiting magic doesnt happen this is a concern no matter what we want to convince ourselves.

Think Mac has some tricks up his sleeves with someone else hopefully though because we were trending for Tatum and relationship was once strong, very odd he's announcing without even giving UF the benefit of OV.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info.

Wonder if Larry Scott had an influence here or not.

If Tatum commits to the Vols as now seems to be expected, what's the over-under on idiots from the FF coming over here to b!tch that we took an 260 lb. 3* OT? I'm guessing 6.

There's close to 6-8 FF posters that come over here to proclaim that the sky is falling.

Hey Chavis and Darth...regarding my FSU stance. It us just my opinion. I really thought they were poised for a Bama like run. But the defensive falloff the last two years is astounding with the way their recruiting has been going. The post JW effect is understandable on offense. I have the feeling Jimbo is headed into a Mark Richt like purgatory of underachievement, or maybe post NC Fulmer is a better comparison. You guys may be right, and I hope so. A healthy FSU detracts somewhat from the Gators.

I get that. I just don't see them dropping off all that much. In their conference with the way they're recruiting I don't see them falling below 9-10 wins in the foreseeable future.

And if you can sustain that type of success while recruiting like they have, you're just the right playmaker or two away from the playoffs.

I could see him being like a Fulmer though if he can't get the right QB in the next few years.

There is no way they dont win 9-10 in that pathetic conference with the way they recruit. I think that is a given. I was thinking more on a national championship scale of competition. If they don't dominate the ACC while pulling top 10 classes every year, then their coaching would really be crap quality.

Yeah! Those losers from the FF are stupid. Fat too!

I just don't get the comment about Butch's long term plan and how it differs from what Jimbo Fisher is doing so far.
