I'm getting really sick of this ****. 74 exacerbated the issue by coming on here and saying all this stuff...and that maybe exactly what he wanted. It's a bad look for everyone.

Agree. I'm sure the insider e-cred is fun but some stuff needs to stay in-house.

I don't doubt that Hurd is frustrated. We're 5-4... I hope they're all frustrated. But bringing this stuff onto VN was stupid and possibly a breach of trust.

Your summarization sounds a little more definitive than his actual statement. If I just read your comment, I'd assume he's gone. Reading 74's actual comments and later comments about his family preferring him to not transfer, it offers a little more hope.

I don't see why he would leave. He will have over a thousand yards this year, and if he stays healthy, should become our all time leading rusher and be drafted fairly high after his junior year. He won't be going to another SEC school or any other major school without sitting a year. It just seems like a major setback to me.

Pretty sure the issue is with the scheme and play-calling. 74 has nothing to do with it and did not make the situation worse by telling us what's really going on. That's just a bad interpretation of the real issue.

Imo, there is one thing that is bothering Hurd, as it does most elite RB's. It is the amount of times he is getting hit behind or at the line of scrimmage right after getting the ball. That is extremely frustrating for an RB when they have no time to make anything happen. He is getting enough carries, it's just the blocking at the LOS is very sporadic. That leads me to believe it is not necessarily a scheme issue, but either a lack of experience issue, a predictability issue, or both.

The scheme shows that Jalen is a COMPLETE BACK. The scheme has nothing to do with it. 74 is only using this platform to scare the fan base and pressure the staff to get his way. The OL is the only thing he has a right to be frustrated with.

Jalen understood the system when he signed. He knew this was not a power run offense like Arky, Bama, LSU, UGA, Stanford, etc. The system should be irrelevant. Like I said, it benefits him. The OL being trash also benefits him. I get if he is pissed from them letting him get hit, but he knew what he was getting himself into when he was being recruited. I mean, his next choice was Ohio St... I guess he would be pissed in that spread that utilizes a ton of read option too... It sure is hurting Ezekiel Elliott's draft status...

I must be crazy because I don't see Hurd getting hit a ton behind the line, at least not out of the ordinary. I almost must be crazy because this offense is clicking relatively well BECAUSE of our offensive line. And did Dobbs not have about as clean of a pocket to pass out of it against USCe than since 2013?

Good chance and likely are pretty much the same thing...

FTR I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hades Hurd transfers.

Doesn't the phrase "good chance he may" mean even less than "he may"? We aren't even to a maybe, so it falls well short of likely.

Jalen has never struck me as being selfish. I've always been impressed with his reaction (or lack thereof) after an ol misses a block leading to a tfl. He never acts aggravated, or yells at anybody, just jumps up and goes back to work. Now all of a sudden he's basically throwing his ol teammates under the bus and threatening to transfer? I hope all this bs is untrue because it sure stinks.

Well no matter I think this offensive line definitely needs to pick it up these last 3 games (injured or not). I would be irritated too if I was Hurd. This offensive line (young, injured, whatever) has had more than enough time to be seasoned enough to get it done these last 3 games!! The 2nd half effort against South Carolina was abysmal. They need to pick it up!!
