'16 FL RB Carlin Fils-Aime (Vol commit 7/30/15)

OVERALL TRAITS
Size-Strength-Speed
Smaller frame but is a lightning bolt of speed and quickness. Will need to add size and strength to his frame for improved yards after contact and durability improvement. Has some of the better play-speed we have seen in this class.

Vision/Patience
Sees daylight well in tight spaces and has the foot-speed to get through tight seams. Runs decisively when a hole is present and has the patience to bounce and stretch or pick and slide in-line.

Agility/Acceleration
Burst and acceleration are at an elite level. Will stick his foot in the ground and split defenders up the seam going from 0-60 in a hurry. Sudden cutter in-line and can get around the corner on perimeter runs. Not an ankle breaker in the open field but is shifty and has the change of speed ability to outrun pursuing DB's without flashy elusiveness.

Power/Balance
Not built real powerfully but is quick-twitched and explosive on contact which allows him to break arm tackles. Uses leverage well and bounces off a lot of first contact. Difficult runner to align for a direct shot, particularly in-line. Retains feet and balance well.

Bottom Line
Fils-Aimes shows some elite flashes but had limited playing time as a junior due to injury. Game-changing potential at the next level in an all-purpose type role. He will be a prospect we track closely in the spring and summer camp circuit and next Fall for consistent production.

They make him sound slight or weak, neither of which he is. Otherwise a good scouting report.

Backfield is going to be hilariously stacked next year.

Hurd/Kamara/Kelly/Young/Fils-Aime

Do you all think we lose Hurd and Kamara after 2016 season?

If we do we'd have

Kelly, Fils-Aime, Young. We'd need AT LEAST two freshman in 2017 class maybe 3.

If one of Kamara or Hurd stay I say we take 2 still.

If both stay take 1 in 17 and then 2 in 2018.

This kid is going to be GOOD here at UT. He is a beast and is fast! A year in our S&C to add 10-15 lbs of muscle and he will be elite! Glad to have this kid and wouldn't trade him for any other RB in the class. CRG is doing work with our RB's!

The "non-limited" playing time as a senior would appear to confirm the elite flashes.

With the 2016 class thin at RB, we are extremely lucky to have a back of CFA's caliber committed.

I'm surprised kelly hasn't gotten any meaningful touches. He has very good vision.

Who are you going to take them from? We have our offensive touches spread pretty thin to some deserving guys as it is. Kelly will get his turn, but in due time.

Per Hubbs

Carlin Fils-aime has plans to be in Knoxville as well this weekend. His team has a bye week before the playoffs begin and there is feeling in Florida his Naples High School team could make a deep run this year. Fils-aime's play has not gone unnoticed from evaluators as well.

How do you see yourself fitting into UT’s rushing attack?
“[Running backs] Coach G (Gillespie) and I were actually talking about it. He had a film side-by-side with his plays and our plays, and we actually kind of run similar plays to them – just line up in different formations. He was talking about maybe possibly doing something new when I get there, maybe putting two running backs in the slot – stuff like that, moving us around. I think he’s just waiting to do something different when I get there, but I’m not sure.”

Are there any backs you compare yourself to?
“I actually never really paid attention to that, but I’ve heard from some a couple people and other backs – Gale Sayers and AP (Adrian Peterson) are what I mostly hear.”

Hopefully he isn't too set on the coaching staff doing "something new" when he gets there.

See... this is exactly why Vol74 should keep his mouth shut. Hurd doesn't unfortunately have the benefit of the doubt with our fans now because someone decided to air this crap out.

Sorry to single you out Lottery. This will just be commonplace for the next 16 months while he's in Knoxville.

I didn't say that because of the Hurd situation. It's more so the fact this staff has a system that they aren't going to tweak much, despite what they say.

What are you all talking about? What did 74 say?

There's a thread in the FF where 74 airs out Hurd's frustrations with this scheme, offensive line and coaching staff. Said he's considering transferring at the end of the year.

Make of that what you will.
