'16 FL WR Binjimen Victor (Ohio State commit)

I don't think the blue is showing up on my screen?

No blue needed because its fact. Think about it, who was our best and most dependable WR the past 2 years? Was it a 6'4 guy or a 5'9 guy? Our WR cannot consistently get separation nor can they make huge catches in big time throws like say a Calvin Ridley.

When do you have to teach a college WR to go up and make a play? If they don't have that aggressive mentality then they are playing the wrong sport. Also Dobbs has literally handed the ball to WRs at times this season and they flat out dropped it. The UGA game in the first half drops dismantled the passing attack. But without North we basically had a bunch of No.2 at best WRs out there. No one consistently won versus man coverage. Malone and Williams showed the most potential but they are wildly inconsistent. I'm a fan of featuring Wolf in the passing game. Dobbs hits the TEs(pass catchers he has confidence in) very well. QBs throw very different when they know their guy will go make a play. Our WRs are playing for "WRU" that's enough said. Go make a play or go play for another school. Simple as that.......

Or he's enjoying the free trip.

I grew up in NC south of K'ville. Not saying free trips aren't good things under almost any circumstance... but I'd pick a different time of year if that's all I wanted.

Disclosure- I know almost nothing about this kid's recruiting history.

Impossible. Our 6'4-6'5 WRs have not been coached how to out jump a 5'9 CB for the ball.

Again, I love Dobbs. He's virtually the ideal representative for the program. He runs great and lays it all out every time he hits the field.

But we won't know what those WR's are and are not capable of until Dobbs starts consistently putting them in a good position with his throws.

I believe UT has some say in when OVs take place. I'm not sure how long ago Victor set it up but a lot of them are purposely set for January.

The first part is true. There were plays missed by receivers. But that number pales in comparison to the number of times Dobbs didn't throw to the right spot plus the number of times his catchable throws caused the receiver to adjust radically preventing them from making runs.

The passing game is at a point where only Dobbs learning to accurately throw to the right spot with consistency will move it forward.

The greatest weight against blaming the WR's is that none of them are really producing. If one or two or 3 were doing well and the rest stank then its them. But none had great productivity. Maybe Jones and the recruiting svcs and competing programs were wrong about some of the WR's... but not all.

I was re-watching the bowl game last night. On one particular play Dobbs scrambled then tried to force one in to Smith at around the 10. The camera angle gave a clear view of how the play developed in front of Dobbs. Wolf ran a hook at about 15 yards. If Dobbs had thrown to him on time then the drive would have been sustained. He might have even scored. But it would have required Dobbs anticipating and throwing the ball before Wolf came out of his break. He just can't seem to master "anticipation".

It could certainly be that ball protection has been beaten into his head so steadily that he hesitates to make those throws. But they're available and make easy catches for the receivers... A LOT are available.

My man. Your first two sentences were the reason for my post.

I have see a lot of posts on here where they want Dobbs to hit every WR in stride every time. That doesn't happen in any game. Watson missed a wide open dude last night. I bet the Clemson fans weren't whining like our fans. The Clemson WRs had to leave their feet at times to make plays as well as hit the ground to catch passes. Everyone said how brilliant Watson was(me included). His pass catchers attack the football consistently. If you look at the UGA game you'll see NFL level throws into tight windows. Our WRs didn't catch hardly any of them. Also you can name only two WRs Dobbs actually trusts(And one of them Pearson is gone). A QB not confident in his WRs will throw late trying to make sure the guy is wide open.

Every good passing offense has WRs that will go make plays consistently. You can't name one guy who wins outside on the regular for Dobbs.

What you say about the WRs is largely true. That Dobbs is not an accurate or on-time thrower is also true. That pass blocking could improve is true as well.

I don't know why there have to be three camps in here. All three have to find ways to improve for the 2016 team to reach its ceiling.

I want this kid. Out of all the recruits left that I even feel we have a chance with, the only one I want more than him is Warrior. Warrior, Victor then Brown.

Not saying i wouldnt take this kid in a heartbeat but id much rather have a speedy slot wr this year. Im curious to see who we end up with at wr.

If I had to guess I doubt they focus much on this kid during the visit. As you said the offers going out seem to point to them wanting another slot guy. Kid had the trip scheduled so they are letting him take it. They don't expect to sign him.

I dont think theyd pass on him but i think a kid like latrell williams fits more of a need since we already have george.

Which is why Z should've been gone yesterday. What he teaches and how he teaches it clearly doesn't resonate with his group and even more clearly doesn't produce results. Too much talent being wasted on the outside.

Totally agree.

Z is the weak link on the BSiA right now. Z's volleyball philosophy (block and rotate) is making the throw game disjointed. With no 7 on 7 work, we need four guys that Dobbs is going to throw to and get in rhythm with. This receiving corps should be ELITE in 2016.

Receivers left a lot of big plays on the turf in 2015. Z better be feeling the heat and coaching these guys up. It's the area that needs the biggest improvement and could have the most impact on our 2016 Championship Runs.
