'16 FL WR Binjimen Victor (Ohio State commit)

There are several dominant recruiting programs whom own their region:

West - USC
Southeast - Bama
Midwest - Ohio State
Northeast - lol

Dumbfounding kids would choose to go live in Ohio. From the weather to the people (bitter, nasty, and unhappy). And never mind the fact that while sec teams are playing top 10 opponent on national tv every Saturday, they are two months into the season before they play a big game. And even then it's against Michigan or Michigan state. It just makes no sense

Sending about 10 players to the draft. Always in the playoff talks. Yes, the SEC is the best conference, but it's easy to understand why kids choose to play at places like OSU.

But somehow they manage to get ~105k people to show up anyway.

Crazy right?

Orange Venom might be right on UT "passing" on Binjimen Victor (although I doubt it -- if so, only because they likely knew it was between OSU and UF), but I wouldn't put money on any of our current three WR commits being better than Victor. I wouldn't even spare a dime on that losing bet. That's not star gazing either. Neither B. Johnson or Henderson put up D1 stats their senior year, and it wasn't the offense either (I think both were third on the team in receiving). I'm not expecting much from either. Hope I'm wrong. This pass offense has been painful to endure as a fan.

I hate OSU and B10 as much as anyone but my best friend, who went to UT, is from Columbus and his family are devout buckeyes. I've been to several games in the shoe and have always worn Orange but I can say that most of the fans are extremely friendly and appreciative of the history of UT and the SEC. Also, Columbus is a pretty fun city and despite the annoying accent, the girls are nice....

I've been to Columbus a few times for the Arnold Classic. It seemed like a decent city. I hate OSU as a Vol fan. What Vol fans need to grasp though is the huge majority of recruits know little to nothing about UT. They aren't fans. That's how choosing a place like OSU makes sense for a lot of them.

This. Why are our fans so narrow-minded?

The lifestyle is just such an adjustment, narrow minded or not. It's hard to understand the weather adjustment if you're not used to one extreme or the other. Kids like Victor have rarely experienced 60 degrees.

Being couped up and not able to do the stuff you've always done is depressing, for lack of a better word. I'm a miserable grump in the winter in TN and I stay sick from the weather. I couldn't imagine what I'd be like if I lived in central OH where winter comes earlier and stays later.

Pass offense may not have been stellar, but the offense as a whole was one of the best all time in UT history. There's a lot left to sell to WR recruits...starting with practice video of Dormady.

Did we get rid of the practice video of Riley already....? Landed us Malone! jk

I do think the future for our offense looks promising. Still not overly enthused with DeBord (know a lot of UM fans who never missed him) but he improved our running game dramatically this year. Hope we can take the next step with him but he's likely a transitory piece of the equation anyway (my most optimist view of him longer-term).

I'm not talking about weather.

This is not a bash at all, just a curious question. Why do you feel this way about DeBord?

I'll start. I actually like the guy. Does he have some room for improvement? Of course, but that also happens to be one of the things I like about him. He seems to understand that, and makes changes accordingly.

There have been articles written and video breakdowns on his calling of the Northwestern game and how he completely dismantled what was suppose to be one of the better defenses in the country.

This seems like it would be a good topic of conversation......if we could get people to do it without going into name calling. Up to this point I don't think that has happened though....lol.
