And then, just as unexpectedly, Florida wide receiver Brandon Johnson pulled the trigger for the Vols on Wednesday. Johnson is someone the Tennessee coaching staff has been really high on and feel like he's a great fit for the program.

What's very interesting about this pickup is that Tennessee beat out Georgia and LSU straight up for someone from South Florida. Johnson visited Knoxville in June for the Vols' first Orange Carpet Day and since then he visited both LSU and Georgia so for the Butch Jones and Zach Azzanni to go into an area where they haven't had much success since they came to Tennessee is a good sign moving forward.

The staff is starting to have a good presence in South Florida and Louisiana this season. If Florida and Miami continue to struggle and LSU stumbles (which I think that team will with the loss of Chavis), we could start to see some major recruiting wins there in the next few years.

Kyle Davis happened. He's already decommitted once. His recruitment will be hard to track, even if he commits next month like he's been saying. It'll never be done until he signs.

I'd heard UT was the clear leader, but then that he's back to UGA / Auburn. It could easily change again. Don't shoot the messenger. I won't make any other assumptions on him because I know how people here get their panties in a wad. After all, it's not me changing my mind. It's Davis who is a high school kid... hard to get a clear picture sometimes.

Davis recruitment has always been all over the place. It depends on the source. You ask a Dawg source it's UGA and TN. You ask a Auburn source it's Au and TN. You as a TN source it's all 3. There is one common team among them all which makes me feel good about us. I'm hoping TN length of recruitment and relationship wins out. We have been on him longer than UGA or Auburn.

Look, I'm not too concerned if someone wants to challenge my credibility, especially before there's any proof one way or another if I'm wrong. Why not judge me in hindsight? If the info I get changes, I'm just letting people know that it's changed. If I say he's going to UGA or Auburn today, and he commits to UT tomorrow.... then bring the pain lol. But don't judge me until I'm wrong. I've yet to be wrong and I'm not nearly as ambiguous with info as some of the others (cough cough). I knew about Jennings to WR a week before it came out and I posted it here. But let's just see what happens here...

I'm not saying it's all three. I'm saying I went from getting UT as his leader to the other two, specifically Auburn. But we shall see!

Hey believe me, I HOPE I'm wrong and the people I've talked to (ex players) are wrong. I'll be wrong all day long if it means Davis is a Vol. I'm just telling yall what I hear and I'm not out to prove a thing.

Your perfect record might be a result of your plan B for every nugget. "We lead for Kyle Davis...I KNOW people" turns into "We no longer lead...damn kids". Your annoyance at insiders who "know players" provides high comic relief. You get real flustered at their mere mention...which is good entertainment for us. :wink2:

None of this is true. This is the first time I've changed info whatsoever. It's not a plan B. And I only said no one who knows players is really an insider, including myself. That's simply a fact. An insider by definition is someone on the inside. So, unless someone here is actually sitting in on recruiting meetings, none of us are insiders.

But again, catch me on the back end of Davis' recruitment. I sure hope it goes back the other way. I'm more of a Vol fan than I am a Volnation fan lol.

Sry I wasn't referring to you as saying it's all 3. I'm talking MODs of sites. TN mods will tell you all 3 are involved. UGA will claims it's mainly them but watch for TN. auburn will say it's them or Stan with UGA 3rd. It's basically depends on who is talking on his behalf. I wouldn't be suprised at who he picks but if he wants to play for Captain Butt Fumble that doesn't know how to use Tavon Austin that his choice. Tavon all of a sudden is showing out now that Schotty hit the road. Schotty is so overrated just because he is a NFL guy. He was terrible

"This list doesn't include a guy like Kyle Davis, who as of Thursday was a still possibly going to make it in this weekend. While we've said for a while this has been a Tennessee, Georgia battle, we've gathered from several places Auburn has made a very strong surge recently and they are very much a team to watch with Davis moving forward."

Seems almost literally word for word what I said, doesn't it? Maybe Fortenberry gathers info from some of the "several places" that I do? Just sayin.

Not chest thumping at all. Not worried about ecred. I'll know what I know about recruiting regardless. More or less just trying to "help" others see where I was coming from when I changed from saying he's a UT lean to now being an Auburn lean. Could very easily change again. That's how Davis' recruitment has been, similar to several guys in past classes.

I think at some point, questioning someone who is fairly consistently accurate and actually has meaningful connections would be less active. But I guess VolNation gonna VolNation. Lol

Keep on keepin' on brother! Peyton Manning himself could come on here, and prove it was himself somehow, and people would still question any information he brought. It is the nature of the beast around here. I, for one, appreciate anyone who brings something to the board. I don't bring much other than to try to bring a few laughs here and there and my post to like ratio indicates I do a fair enough job at that. I'm just glad to be here. Go VOLS! Go Brandon Johnson and BEAST out this year! :hi:
