'16 FL WR Freddie Swain (Florida commit)

Swain a a great WR and is going to do well by the Gators-- as long as they can get him the ball. I'm not going to be too worried about not getting him though with the amount of talent we have amassed on campus and other guys we are in on this year.

Congrats on the future pickup HG.

I won't count out CBJ until fax is in.

Still wondering what took Mac so long to decided Swain was worth the attention. He was all over Cleveland (Tx Wr) and Ridley..even took a commit from self proclaimed Gamecock fan living in Jax. over FS. All you can do is wonder.

Too many stars obviously.

Per Hubbs

Look for Zach Azzanni in Citra, Fla., on Friday night to watch North Marion High School as it has several Tennessee targets including Freddie Swain, Blake Vinson and Jordan Woods.

Swain is narrowed in on a few schools, most notably Tennessee, Florida and USC and most believe the Gators are the team to beat at this point. But, Swain has committed to an official visit to Tennessee.

As we've noted several times, Vinson has many ties to East Tennessee and Tennessee and was back in Knoxville last weekend checking the Vols against Western Carolina. This one, like Swain, could turn into a Tennessee-Florida matchup in the end. Look for him in the Swamp along with Swain this weekend.

It would be nice to overcome the hometown gators on this. Swain isn't flashy but knows how to run routes and get open as he showed at the Opening. We can use a guy that knows how to get open

He is probably like every other WR recruit. He would like to commit to a place where he will get thrown to.

Whether one agrees with your statement or not, as a UT fan it completely defies any logic why you would choose to make a post like that.

Do you honestly think it will help our future team by discouraging recruits to play for the Vols?

He didn't say not to come here, he said we don't throw the ball, which is true. He doesn't have to tell WR recruits not to come here, every coach in the country is doing that for him. That's what happens when you have NFL POTENTIAL on the outside and fail to use it, especially in the redzone or in play action.

Not to mention repeating it over and over

It we have recruits that won't come to Tennessee because of a ******* message board, I doubt they're the type of person that could handle the SEC anyway.

Pretty sure when we get a QB that can throw and a line that can block we will be throwing to the WR's again.

That's the problem. I know it's easy to point to the scheme BUT WRs got the ball at other places where Butch coached. I think we're really limited right now in what we can do. That said I'm not giving the coaches a pass on their stupidity from the UF game.

I agree, however you can't play peewee football in the SEC. I don't care if Elmer Fudd is your QB, when you run 200+ yards on a SEC defense that gives up 50 a game then you have to take advantage, or at least try to take advantage. Butch Jones keeps saying we have to learn to win, but we don't need to learn how to win, we need to learn how to quit being afraid to lose. We have to let Dobbs throw the ball in crucial moments when the game is on the line, especially when we set up the play action beautifully all game with our run game.
