'16 FL WR Latrell Williams (UT signee 2/3/16)

Nobody in the country knows whether they're getting Kongbo. Sounds like he's told both UT and OM he's in.

"WOW I never trust him ( WR WILLIAMS) . Also MR Larry Scott what u do in the dark will show in the light SOON!!!!!"

"**** rocky top, that entire state is an abortion and should be purged."

"Classless move by a classless WR. I knew once Bruce reaffirmed his commitment that Williams would be looking for another spot. Not a big loss outside of team WR numbers on scholarship."

Just a few so far courtesy of their 247 board. I'm sure it will get better.

We have really upgraded our speed on the offensive side of the ball in this class. CFA, Williams, Henderson should all do well in our offense.

Looks like we made the conscious effort to go smaller and faster with the WR group for this class. I like the plan with our offense.

I think we are done..we had three more scholys and we filled them today.

I agree. Obviously you don't turn down a Preston Williams or Tee Higgins, but you need the quicker, shiftier receivers for this offense to reach it's full potential.

LOL After watching what Byrd went through yesterday this just has me smiling. 5-6WRs doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I am very happy for this kid. I hope Miami loses 2-3 more before the day is out.

Quote from canes sight "Rocky Top just kicked us all over the yard".

Quote from canes sight "Butch Jones beat Richt on and off the field".

GBO!

Through all of the melts my favorite by far is some guy hoping to play Tennessee before Byrd leaves and being upvoted by the board.

Vols would of skull dragged Miami last year, this year, and next year like they were ****ing Kentucky.

Sadly no chance to play them as we won't be playing in the Belk bowl.

HOW DOES WILLIAMS FIT IN?

With the need to grow the passing game, the Vols wanted to upgrade their speed and they have done that in this recruiting class with their wide receiver haul highlighted by Williams who might be the fastest of the Vol receivers as he's been clocked with a 10.4 100 meter.Williams has been a Miami commitment and again we see the importance of Larry Scott.

Scott had Williams committed to the Canes and when he moved to Rocky Top, the 5-11, 180 pound receiver immediately became interested in the Vols.Tennessee has been looking for that impact guy at the slot position, something they missed this season with the loss of Pig Howard.

Williams certainly can be a big factor in the slot and could be a huge weapon on special teams in the future in the return game with his speed.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR TENNESSEE?

Williams was a guy that was committed to Miami and it's a big flip for the Vols because it brings so much speed to the offensive field. Tennessee's growth in the passing game remains the need to add more speed and Williams' speed is the biggest thing he brings to the table for the Vols.

At 5-11, 180 pounds, Williams can play in the slot and brings a needed dimension to the Vols passing game to go with a big time receiver class highlighted by Georgia native Marquez Callaway.

SCOUTING REPORT ON WILLiAMS

Now we turn to Volquest.com Recruiting Analyst Paul Fortenberry for a closer look at Williams:

"Tennessee added some more speed to the wide receiver group with Latrell Williams. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound playmaker had over 1,300 yards receiving this year and a lot of that came from pure athleticism. Williams can play either the slot position of the outside, but Tennessee likes his upside a good deal on the inside. Another nice pickup for the Wednesday morning."
