'16 FL WR Latrell Williams (UT signee 2/3/16)

Just because it's worthy of multiple Miami threads:

Coach Scott got here and then thought to himself "let's just take all the kids from the class I was putting together at Miami that are worth a scholarship at Tennessee".

First off, congrats on getting Williams he is definitely a speedy stud that would have been highly recruited if his team had better composure.
But I would just like to point out that this article has wrong information. Scott never recruited him while at UM. Latrell Williams was commited to USF and his Wide Receiver coach Ron Dugans came to UM and he flipped to UM after his Official Visit (Scott was already apart of the Tenn. Staff).

Miami offered him while Scott was already at Tenn, and Tenn offered him 2 days later.

Best quotes from the Canes Board:
It's not even about Latrell per se. It's a bad sign for us moving forward when Dugans can't close on a kid that he's known for a year, and Tenn staff has known for 2 weeks (and Tenn told him to wait and see if they had a spot open up).

He literally waited for a spot. I mean holy sh!t. We didn't even lose to Tenn..... we lost to "maybe we have a scholarship available, don't know yet."

And...Tennessee just kicked us where it hurts with the loss of Byrd and Williams! Lol!

Those 1st 2 quotes are so telling... I'd be pissed too if that happened to us

Love this kid. I was hoping we could find a way to fit him in.

This one took me by surprise. Figured we were done at WR for this year, so I hadn't really took a look at Williams.

WalMarts in S Florida better be well stocked on underwear. Canes fans will be clearing the shelves tonight.

WR's and CB's seemingly grow on tree's in south florida. I think we'll be fine despite the losses

one of the greatest ever, he was still ripped and working out

and an amazing kick returner, much like Patterson. He didn't have great hands and so wasn't really a great receiver, but solid and put the fear in defensive backs.

Not to doubt the experts, but why doesn't this kid have any other major offers?

Good info...remember it that way also. Your butthurt board is alleging that Byrd and some of your other defections were scared of your new S&C program. Let em know that Lawson runs our kids to the bone. Amazing body transformations in a few months. Oh, and they're never playing Tennessee...we don't do the Bell Helicopter Bowl. :hi:

His school is in an area of Florida that is hard to reach without going out of your way to get there. It hurts your overall time to recruit other schools in Florida.

Yeha this one would bug me way more if I was a Cane, Byrd is a top athlete and probably playing both ways if we need him too
(BTW, I hope he does, love when you have a guy plays both ways and puts on show evry weekend. I think EB maybe did a little bit, probably the last person to do it with us. But I could be wrong, I know Chris Gamble and obviously the one who stole our Heisman was great at it)

But the kid had a relationship with the coach for over a year, followed him when he got promoted tk Miami from UsF. And we truly put him on hold and he still chose us.
That would be really worrisome for U faithful. I know Saint Richt didn't have a full year, but this one should have be harder to flip for us, you think. But we be flippin like some burgers

I went to middle school with Chad Thomas (our starting DE)...He and some of the other players said while Byrd was on his OV to Miami, that day we had a few players drop out during the work out session and Byrd gave the impression that he did not want to be apart of that.
