'16 GA ATH Kyle Davis

Skeeter said Tee was coming home back when Butch was hired. Which he in fact did for an interview but some dumbasses took it as Skeeter saying he was taking our WR coach job and still butthurt about it.

I guess u can twist anybody's speculation about anything into truth if u try hard enough.

As far as resumes, are the "others" as well known as Tee?

Also, is this the only coaching change you are hearing?

I would assume that they are of the same caliber as Tee. I have not heard any names of others I just know he is in the early stages of gauging interest from others but to what extent I am not for sure.

As far as other changes I have not heard of anymore.

I think that can be said with the whole team. We will be as or more talented against everyone we play next year. If we don't have a lot of success next year, Butch and company never will get it done here.

Even though the talent would be better for the next coach if you fired everyone, you lose Hurd, Dobbs, Barnett, possibly Malone, not to mention who would transfer if Butch was fired. That would be tough sleding for who ever came in after.

Did they add anyone to replace Terry Fair? Or will they?

Is Kyle Davis too much of a long shot to make the list?
No, not too much of a long shot. I just think Tennessee is chasing at least one of the other teams — Auburn might be the favorite — and I'm not sure Davis is quite as high on UT's board as he once was. He's a guy Tennessee still would be happy to take, obviously, but I think the Vols might feel they need a guy more along the lines of Hardman or Velus Jones Jr.

Also, said of course Vols would still take Davis for sure. Which, of course, we knew.

I agree with this. We need Mecole and/or Velus Jones a lot more than Davis. We have enough big physical receivers on the outside. We need a burner in the slot. That will make our offense unstoppable.

We need both IMHO, JMO.

I agree! We definitely need more of both. We need to coach the big wide receivers to be more physical. Throw the ball up to them, where they can use that size, to get those big first downs and red zone touchdown. Then having Mecole and Velus blowing past defenders for those gamebreaking touchdowns. Getting both = Championships!

"We have enough tall players who play receiver on the outside", is a more accurate statement.

Few, if any, have proven to be physical to the point of taking over games and making play after play. Coaching philosophy and an average passing game have helped to contribute to that.

If Pearson, Smith, North, or Malone were on Baylor they'd be all conference. They do not get a chance to make play after play.

Yep. And that's why I doubt we land any more elite big WR. Little guys will come here, but I don't see us getting the highly rated big ones until we develop a downfield game. No question our WR would be drafted higher if they played for Baylor or TCU.

Tee Higgins might disagree.

Isn't he recruiting for the Vols?

I read he was taking visits? Maybe I'm getting him mixed up.

Point is, out of state BIG WR are going to be tough pulls with our lack of using them for anything but blocking. There seems to be some change recently in our willingness to throw downfield, so maybe it won't be as big an issue.

This is what I alluded to in my last comment about coaching and QB play.

Having said that, they don't do a very good job of getting open themselves either.
