'16 GA ATH Kyle Davis

Sooooo

Kyle Davis....

IMO we have way bigger needs. I got Mecole Hardman and Velus Jones higher on my list at WR. Plus I'd take 5 star DT Derrick Brown over him as well as Nigel Warrior.

We're close to being a championship team next year. Those guys bring us alot closer than Davis.

I see what you're saying but if KD wants in, he has a spot. I thought Warrior and Brown a year apart..

Edit: Nevermind, Think I'm confusing Gibbs and Warrior.

All 5 of those guys sound just fine to me :)

The Uga guys felt pretty confident today that they will land Davis. They have momma in the bag....pops doesn't want him in georgia but appears that mom is doing everything she can to ensure he stays in georgia for school. Momma is being very well taken care of by the georgia boys at her assisted living facility from what I hear. Will be very surprised if they don't close the deal with him. I think auburn has a outside shot but we are behind the eightball for sure.
Bump. I guess this is what I understood him as saying Davis' mom was getting hooked up.

Jones is good but I would much rather have the #1 WR in the country. Davis is an absolute stud. If he wants in, you hand deliver him a scholarship.

Maybe if we have some staff shakeup after this year, Butch can get you on the staff. Isn't azzani the recruiting coordinator? That would be perfect for you. You obviously know more than everyone Butch has on staff, including himself. Good luck, man.

Wow - nice personal attack. Gillespie is the recruiting coordinator.

Apologies if I went too far. My sarcasm can get too strong sometimes, I guess. Apologies if I offended.

I guess it bugs me somewhat when people state their opinion as absolute fact. Like people are crazy if they don't see it their way (yeah yeah, this is a message board, etc....) especially when it's from someone who's been negative (yeah yeah this is a message board, etc...)

Anyways GBO!

Edit: unless I'm thinking of some other poster who has a habit of being negative.

I know this might sound blasphemous but I don't see Davis as the #1 receiver in the country. Or even as a elite 5 star guy. IMO he doesn't have either elite speed or elite size. He looks like he's 6'1" - 6'2" and runs in the mid 4.6 40 range. Now he does have tremendous ball skills but if my WR runs a 4.6 then I need him to be 6'4" or taller like Preston Williams or if he 6'2" or shorter I need him to run in the 4.4 range.

IMO its Mecole Hardman/Velus Jones or bust for us at WR.

Davis is 6'2", around 220lbs. Runs about a 4.6 apparently. Could probably get faster in a strength/conditioning program, but it's all good. It's a shame there aren't successful receivers with similar numbers. You know, other than-

Dez Bryant
Alshon Jeffery
Keenan Allen
Anquan Boldin
Larry Fitzgerald

But, maybe your scouting is better than some NFL no-names... :)

You're crazy if you don't think Kyle Davis is elite

I knew Da'Rick before he got to UT. I've also met Kyle a few times.

Kyle is without a doubt physically bigger than Da'Rick and it really isn't even close. Combine natural God given size with a good work ethic and you get Kyle. Kid is the real deal.

Gut feeling GFW... UT, UGA, or Barn?

That is exactly who I said Kyle reminds me of. Did not know he was that much bigger, because Da'Rick was a big physical WR. Kyle would man handle press coverage CB's and be hell in the run game blocking the edges...

When I look at photographs of Kyle Davis, the first thought that comes to mind is, "a young Terrell Owens," albeit hopefully without the attitude. Purely in terms of physique, I don't believe I've ever seen a more NFL-ready body displayed by a high school senior, at least not at the wide receiver position. If anyone is built to catch the ball in heavy traffic across the middle, it's Kyle Davis. If anyone can outmuscle the tight press coverage of Florida or Alabama cornerbacks, it's Kyle Davis.
