'16 GA ATH Kyle Davis

If I were Kyle Davis, I would want to go read my thread on Volnation to see what people are saying about me. Then I would find out that they are not talking about me at all. On top of that, I would see a bunch of armchair quarterbacks trying to get my potential WR coach fired.

Then, I would talk to Butch about this and get one of his "coach speak" answers that wouldn't really tell me anything.

However, I really like UT and Auburn is a dumpster fire right now. The jury is still out on Georgia also. So, I would decide to put my decision off as long as possible so I could see how all of this plays out.

My feeling is that it may be a while before Kyle decides what to do. In the meantime, I would really like to get this thread back on track and talk more about the player and how he is performing this year.

So one thing I noticed is that the WR looked alot better in yesterdays game. Like I said look for the change to come after the season. Also noticed that Butch was also speaking alot with the wideouts and noticed they were running alot more crisper routes.

I did not notice them crouching before snap either.

Not the UT way, fire first come up with a plan second.

Pretty sure that's very very taboo to reach out to a replacement before someone is fired. I've heard ADs in interviews say that's about the worst thing you can ever do.

I've seen this "crouch" mentioned multiple times but I have never noticed anything out of the ordinary in the pre-snap stance of the WRs...am I just missing it?

I think they started easing up on the stance, could once again be CBJ's influence. Here is a pic from last year.

They would actually crouch lower once looking forward. Their backs would be almost 90 degrees.

That...doesn't look that out of the ordinary to me. Almost 90 degrees would be a little extreme though. What is the supposed purpose of this stance? More explosiveness? Why try and reinvent the wheel?

My guess would be explosion out of the stance, and also driving through initial contact if a CB was playing press. I think it ended up being uncomfortable for most of the wr's and actually causing adverse effects.

True, but that is just the nature of things when the team is not quite living up to expectations. Then when that happens, fans and the media will look at position groups that should be producing at a high level and are not.

Hence the attention CZA is getting. It's gonna happen no matter what program. But then, to add to it, you have USC losing their HC and that means Tee might be looking for a job soon. That would naturally lead to some talk.

However, anyone coming in will probably keep him. Helton, their interim coach might get the job seeing how well USC played against No.2 Utah on Saturday. They spanked 'em from start to finish.

Despite having some losses that we really shouldn't have, I think most recruits and media can see this team is right on the verge of breaking out. Should have been this year, but much of that top 5 talent we reeled in, just isn't ready to start. The place it showed the most was the OL.

This team should be in a much better position to compete for an SEC Championship next fall.

I hope our OL next season looks like this.
LT- Richmond
LG- Robertson
C- Thomas
RG- Jones
RT- Hall
Still a pretty young OL, but very talented and a lot of starts between them. If Mahoney is still here and can't do anything with this line, he needs to go.

I think that can be said with the whole team. We will be as or more talented against everyone we play next year. If we don't have a lot of success next year, Butch and company never will get it done here.

I'd be good with that. Plus it would mean our older guys are the backups, which isn't good necessarily, but it's better than freshman backups like this year.

I think that is the best lineup. Of course Kendrick may have something to say about that. I think Boulware has a lot of potential and haven't given up on Mosley or Sanders either. We'll have talent, depth, and experience across the board next year. Like Catbone said, it's time to put up or shut up.

Dont forget about Zach Stewart. Kid is a hoss.
