'16 GA ATH Kyle Davis

If I'm a blue chip WR I don't want play with dobbs he is so inaccurate and our WR make him look average because they are so athletic they can bail him out every now and then

I really like the way we run the ball against everyone with success whether or not we are happy with the play calling (pass/run). We had 4th qtr leads vs OU, UF, and Bama so don't fix it if it ain't broke imo.

First-quarter playcalling in the fourth quarter is really all that I request. I don't think that's too much to ask. :hi:

so instead hes gonna go play with johnson and sean white from AU? Or Faton Bauta and Brice Ramsey at UGA? makes no sense. Their passing games are worse than ours.

AU- "Come be the next Duke Williams!"
UGA- "Come play immediately with Jacob Eason"
TN- "Come rotate with 7 other 4*/5* and get 2-3 targets a game!"

I love TN, but I wouldn't want to come here right now if I was a top WR. And yes, I know the recruits we have coming in at the QB position. But I don't know if that'll change our crazy rotation strategy. We don't use the weapons we have enough, as is. JMO, GBO.

Is this a freaking joke? Dobbs will be a senior next year. Our future is Dormady, Guarantano and Johnson. We will have the best stable of QB's in 2017 and that is not just a Tennessee perspective. That is how other schools are recruiting against us with Trevor Lawrence (who we also lead for).

I know our passing game isn't great..But Auburn LOL

Selling him the Coates and Duke success. Similar builds and he is primary target day 1. Also Craig is a beast in the recruiting trail. He was nearly unbeatable at FSU going heads up with other recruiters.

It's hard to argue with recent WR success. Butch and Co point to slot WR success. I have yet to see them do jack squat with a big WR. It's pretty easy for a opponent to point at production of north and Malone and raise questions

how did Duke turn out? Come play with Eason? How about come play with Dormady and JG? Its not like hes gonna get targets at AU and UGA either though.

Instead of using an offensive term to try and bash my opinion on this, just make a counter argument.

Duke was a head case, but he was a beast on the field. I'd imagine he'd get ample playing time at both UGA and AU the moment he signs there. What's his competition? There's a little more competition for those snaps at UT. And yes, come play with Eason. In all likelihood, he'll be the starter day 1 there. He's not playing with Dormady or JG to start off, he's playing with an inconsistent, run-first QB, rotating with other high ranked WR recruits.

I promise that I hope he comes to play here. I think the dude is an absolute beast. OV says we're out of it, and I'm offering opinions as to why that may be.

This site is filled with a lot of weak minded people. They can't face the prospect of disappointment. So they pretend nothing good will ever happen to this program.

Uhhhhh... You like being wrong? I mean, Dobbs didn't remotely contend for Heisman. I don't call it weak minded. Most people like realism. I like mild optimism. Not ridiculousness.

Any recruits this year only play 1 year with Dobbs.

He still has another year. Best believe if we're as good as some on here predict we'll be in 2016, his name will be in the conversation.

He MUST improve his accuracy and consistency to be in contention.

Have I ever said anything different? The difference between me and you guys is not that I don't see his faults. Is that I believe he can improve. Why do I believe that? Because I've seen it.

One of the main reasons I'm so confident in Dobbs is the fact he's improved each and every year. He's gotten bigger. He's gotten stronger. His arm strength has improved. His running speed has improved. Now he needs to be more consistent throwing the ball.

We all have seen him throw the ball accurately. See the Kentucky and South Carolina games. So it's not about a lack of talent. Its about honing his craft. Improving his consistency. And stuff like that comes with experience.

And that's something I'm not worried about because I respect Dobbs work ethic and competitive hunger.

Seems a cowardly way to move through the world to me but full respect for your honesty.

I will admit its probably a dumb way to be but since I have kept up with UT football recruiting, it seems like every time I get really optimistic about a huge recruit, we lose him. So it works out much better for me to just assume we lose out on such high profile guys like Hardman, Brown and Davis. That way if we do land them, it is even that much sweeter.

I can understand the reasoning. And it isn't as if there haven't been more than our fair share of disappointments both on the field and in recruiting.

Thing is disappointments only sting momentarily but living in Catbone's reality where bad things are always just around the corner is a full time drag. Life is short. It's the 'a coward dies a thousand deaths' thing. No need to 'get your hopes up' but maybe try not anticipating failure before it actually materialises. They are just negative fantasies you are living in advance.

Easier said than done sometimes, I know:).

Hurd, McKenzie, Williams, Kamara, North, Phillips, Richmond, Tuttle, Malone, Kelly, Bates, Pearson, Barnett, Moseley, the Berry twins, Dobbs, and Reeves-Maybin all say "Hi."

So when was the last time we landed the top 3 recruits in the state of Georgia again?

It's always unrealistic to think we could ever pull the top 3 recruits from GA. The fact that we are in it this deep into the process with the top three prospects in Georgia speaks to how good this staff is on the recruiting trail.

I agree, we've squandered some talent imo. But those other two schools are as bad or worse. Truly baffling how this kid would have a top 3 of those schools when none of them have proven recently they can maximize the potential of a WR.
