Recruits can contact coaches. Coaches CAN NOT call recruits.

SIAP
From NCAA website: What is a dead period?

During a dead period a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents, and may not watch student-athletes compete or visit their high schools. Coaches may write and telephone student-athletes or their parents during a dead period.

I can't imagine Dale Carter would allow his son to go to Auburn with possible recruiting violations involved in trying to get him and have Steele as his DC on top of that?! Every insider on this board said Warrior is a VOL this weekend and today Auburn is suddenly getting CBs from well respected people. Something doesn't add up.

IMO Warrior is possibly a little pissed that people think he's a Vol lock. He wants his announcement to have impact on NSD.

What better way to create some drama (and some massive BOOMS from the fans) than by sending some quick texts to a few recruiting guys and making them think Auburn has a chance before ultimately committing to UT on NSD?

I think there is probably some truth to this. It was starting to trickle out/being implied that he was leaning Vol and NOW Aurburn is a major player. Nah.

1 CB, which is the same number Tennessee got today. Simmons ar Scout is the only other person thay picked Auburn. The Rivals guys like Farrell are all saying Tennessee.

That's because it's going to be Teneesee. He's not coming to Auburn. I know of no AU insider saying he is coming. Keith said we were in it so much as to have a hat on the table but he's not even in our class predictions.

Good call

I would be pretty shocked if auburn was the choice.

Auburn felt like they had some momentum going into the weekend, but from everyone I've talked to Warrior and his family had a great weekend in Knoxville.

I've never called anyone a lock and I'm not going to do that, but I would be very surprised if Warrior isn't a Vol come signing day.

Given how conservative PFort and Hubbs are, this one is over IMO. They would not go out on a limb like that when other analysts are predicting him to go to Auburn unless Warrior was a Vol lock.

The only way you can get stronger "he's a Vol" language from VQ is if the kid's LOI has been faxed in.

I know everyone says money, but I seriously don't see the appeal to Auburn. That would probably be the biggest head scratcher since I started following recruiting in the Fulmer days. Third DC in as many years, coach who probably won't make it to a fifth season at the helm. It just makes no sense to me.

Kipp is stirring drama for NSD. Typical of sites to do this late. Create drama where there is none. Callahan said he hasn't heard anyone say Auburn is a serious threat either.

I hope you are right. PFort's and Callahan's quotes are encouraging.

Nothing could beat Kyle Davis for a head scratcher right now. If you think we have problems in the passing game take a look at Auburn's 2nd half performance vs Georgia last season.

I've been to Auburn, and honestly, Columbus, GA looks great, in comparison. That should tell you something.

Well, to be fair, large numbers of well-trained and highly motivated American soldiers is pretty inspiring...whereas dead oak trees, not so much. Just sayin'.

"Regarding Kipp Adams CB to Auburn, he says that there is a couple of people in Bama and Georgia that think Auburn has a shot, but everyone he talked to says that Tennessee is the strong favorite and that Auburn would be considered a huge underdog at this point to land him."

Sounds like he put in the CB just for the Hell of it.

LOL! It shows how much these CB's are really worth. There is no reason for us to take them seriously when these analysts don't.
