'16 GA DB Nigel Warrior (UT commit 2/3/16)

Considering the amount of time Kelly Jr spent on the field he put up some good numbers. Our defense its just nasty up front and also on the back end, but I'm interested to see who will be out there with JRM and Kirkland. I'd like to see how G.Bryant is shaping up, he was supposed to have some of the best lateral speed on the team.

Dunno if anyone else heard this today, but Joe Montana was on ESPN radio talking to Russillo I believe it was. He said Dale Carter, whom he played with in Kansas City, was the best athlete he'd ever seen.

Nigel Warrior is gonna be special for us.

I know he isn't a safety. But it would be great to Bates out There next year. Dude could cover the best RBs, hoping he has developed and will be seeing some action

Bryant and Bates. We need both of them. Kirkland came in and played over Bryant for sure. I was thinking Bates would be OLB

From Auburn's Rivals mod. This is as homer as it gets:

"DB Nigel Warrior – I didn’t think Auburn had a chance against Tennessee with the son of a former Tennessee star. Warrior, who is the son of Dale Carter, would sign with the Vols and follow in his father’s footsteps in Knoxville. Simple enough, I thought. But I was wrong. I think. If what I’m now led to believe is true – Warrior will sign with Auburn - I was way off. I didn’t take into account his mother, Tangie Warrior, graduated from Tuskegee University. Nor did I think about the close relationships she’d develop with Auburn’s new coaches, or how a last-minute official visit could change things. I thought I knew. I didn’t. But at least I didn’t assume, and only made an ass out of me."
What this guy said makes no sense. Its as if someone that was high on crack wrote this garbage.

There will be more 4-3 formations, imo, than when CJJ was here. We have good backers and I look forward to seeing Bates, Bryant, Smith, Berry and others get more playing time.

One last bump because it still makes me laugh, especially the last sentence. Pretentious bull crappery and recruiting geek homerism if I've ever seen it.

Truly do not understand what people think at times. Without TKJr last season we are talking about how they did in the Music City Bowl instead of Outback. He makes big plays. Seems that McNeil being out for the first two games and limited for a couple after that is now forgotten. He makes tackles early in the open field that if missed would result in big gains or TD's for the opponents. Those tackles were nearly always made closer to the LOS than his senior counterparts. He makes plays on deep passes that enable the CB's to have confidence to play press coverage because he has their backs. He takes correct angles on plays. All he needs is more playing time.

Warrior is a different type player than TKJr, but equally effective. He fits Shoops' attack dog style perfectly IMO.

People always want to think the new guys are better. I think TK is going to show out this season. Up until now he's been sharing snaps with Randolph and McNeil. He's the man now.

Dude baits QBs like crazy. Him not starting last season was crazy. When coaches felt the game was on the line he was in the game. I don't understand the logic behind it. Just play your best guys and be done with it.

Warrior is TKjr style in pass coverage just with more athleticism. This is a flat out monster of a safety we got. 😁😁😁😁😁

Think about this...

Remember only a couple of very short years ago....JRM played nothing but ST's.

JRM and Kirkland were not even mentioned on the field at the same time on a regular basis until halfway through the season last year.

Now they are one of the best LB duos in the SEC.

Our D is gonna be good...scary good.

I said 2017 guys about TK. I love him. I'm even assuming he may declare next year. I do however believe we may have a couple young guys with higher ceilings down the road of course. Good problem to have.

Per Hubbs

As for the Nigel Warrior and Auburn rumors, Warrior told us he wasn't sure where those came from as he was set to be a Vol once he left Tennessee's campus after his official visit weekend.

File this away in the categories of you never know what high schoolers choose a school based off of. It was indicated to us this week that it was a big deal to Warrior that the Vols switched from Adidas to Nike.

The good thing now is our best players are the most experienced. But I agree. Not starting TK the last 2 years has been criminal.

TK has seemed like the best ball hawk we have. A couple of his interceptions have been crazy. I am just wondering who is going to be our Randolph back there in terms of communication and getting guys set. IMO Randolph was a good player but a great leader, and that is the hole I see on the back end now. Hopefully TK can step up into that.

"It was indicated to us this week that it was a big deal to Warrior that the Vols switched from Adidas to Nike." ...now maybe those of you all that said the brand switch didn't make a difference will realize how much impact is going with Nike had on recruits, and good ones at that.
