Dale Mother'effing Jones.
Saw one of the greatest plays in UT history when he deflected and intercepted Shula in person at Legion Field.
Brown has been taken for granted by UGA when they were recruiting Rochester. They basically told JR that he was the top guy on their broad and the one that they wanted. They lied like they always do but this time it has bit them in their a** when Brown took offense to their comments. They have tried hard since to make up but Brown has decided to pull back. Most casual observers still think he is bound to the mutts but it's very wide open. He does not like Garner at AU and we have made him feel very welcome and a priority. He has also seen what our Barnett have done. We lead IMO but our lead is now somewhat smaller after their camp where he got a lot of attention. He is a smart kid though that can see through the BS and the lies. I think Butch closes this one.
Dewey Warren, Ron Widby, Bubba Wyche, Bob Johnson, Paul Naumoff, Richmond Flowers
I actually watched Richmond Flowers play as a Sidney Lanier Poet in historic Crampton Bowl.
We could use some more top tier DTs in the rotation to go along KMac and Tuttle in the future. I know we got Picou last year as well but I like to stack up top tier players on the first and second string. I think the depth chart still looks good for playing time at DT.
When they traveled to Tennessee for an unofficial visit, they werent treated like a regular family from Buford. They felt like they were treated like the Royal family.
As soon as the Browns pulled up to Tennessees facilities, there was a crowd waiting.
The entire coaching staff, well, it seemed like everybody in the athletic department was waiting at the curbside with umbrellas waiting for us to show up because it was raining, James said. I was taken aback by that.
Said Martha: I was caught off guard. They were just saying we dont want you guys to get wet.
The Tennessee visit exceeded expectations to say the least. Everything from walking inside Neyland Stadium to hearing about the schools business program (Derrick is planning on studying business marketing), the family was happy about it all. Martha is a big basketball fan and she was particularly ecstatic to see the statue of legendary womens basketball coach Pat Summit.
If you ask his parents about their opinion on Mark Richt, they just light up.
He is a subdued type of guy, James said. He seems like a good Christian man. He tries to make sure that he runs his program on the straight and narrow. He has high expectations for his players on and off of the field, and I like that.
Said Browns mother: I just enjoy his (Richts) presence. When he talks to us, I feel like he is sincere about Derricks career if he chooses to go to UGA and also sincere about building a long-term relationship.
Despite their affinity for coach Richt, Browns parents say every coach is even right now. They dont have any favorites. They do have a memorable visit to one school, though.
