If we can get DeAngelo Gibbs, Hunter Johnson, and most of the in-state kids in 2017, we'll challenge for the #1 recruiting class in the country.

They were piggy backed off of Dickey's efforts, but Battle never had a losing record here and had Tennessee nationally ranked 5 out of the 7 years he was here. He doesn't even closely resemble Derek Dooley. Dooley is on another level of failure.

Dooley re-wrote the book on how to be a failure as a head coach in college football.


My 4 1/2 year old knows that you don't go a year without signing an O-lineman. Even worse, I'm pretty sure Derek Mason knows you don't do that. :crazy:

It's too early for Gibbs but read my post from about a week ago on Brown. UGA was way in front at the start of the year till DB found out that UGA was telling the same story to Julian Rochester who committed to them. Brown is a shy, soft spoken guy, and he felt a trust was broken. His parents that loved Richt also feel misled. DB will not say much directly but that lead to him opening up his recruitment. we have done an AMAZING job in telling our story, and the performance of our freshmen is very attractive to him, as is the prospect of playing next to Barnett and KM. I can now tell you that we lead. There will be a lot of wrong crystal balls on this--just watch.

There are a lot of players we don't lead for, we we do lead for a bunch of these 5 stars, which is mind-boggling to me.If we can take the lead for MH, I would be ecstatic.

When he told the story on AJC about Butch and he rest of the staff sitting outside in the rain with umbrellas waiting for DB and his family I knew that would bring some comfort and respect between the staff and DB. Looking good. Hopefully we can get him. Dude is a beast. Reminds me of shy in that he is just a huge dude and very strong but needs some time in a S&C program plus the soft spoken part. Idk might just be me.

As superb a job as Butch has done recruiting thus far, there is an altogether different level of warp drive he can take it to once he has the onfield product perched in the top ten again. An orange recruiting tsunami of unprecedented proportion is slowly gaining momentum.

Defensive line is also a priority and things are beginning to shape up there as well. Obviously, Georgia's Derrick Brown is the big-time target of the group, and Tennessee will receive an official from the big man. But, it's a tight race right now with Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State and Alabama all in the mix.

Mr Brown took at hit from Rivals.
Still would love to have in at UT.
He getting mentored by KMAc, Tut et al. Will be a baller!
He has the physical attributes, he will be forged into a complete warrior competing with our current unit
