I don't read Basilo's X too much anymore, but for those who want to, read on:

I would watch the Mississippi State Head Coaching situation. Dan Mullen who without much fanfare has done a good job in Starkville. Coach Mullen , for good reason, should be on a number of Athletic Directors’ coaching short lists. If Coach Mullen were to leave, Tennessee’s chances to land Georgia defensive tackle Derrick Brown and Mississippi defensive lineman Jeff Simmons would improve greatly. Both Brown and Simmons are impact kids and will contribute immediately. Mississippi State is thought to be a slight leader for both at this point.

I feel more comfortable in GFW's insight on Brown's recruitment, but just wanted to share what I read.

Derrick Brown a cowbell lean?

I didn't think so, but was bored and decided to see if X had posted anything of interest. Not sure how much insight he has into Brown's recruitment. Just posted it for a differing opinion. If others, maybe GFW, might want to say if this may have been the case, before the visit. Sounds to me, reading GFW's quotes, we lead.

Shaping up as another Kyle Davis recruitment. Georgia, UT, Auburn all feeling like they have a chance. I know our guys are cautiously optimistic. This weekend will be his 4th visit to thus far, 3rd game, and we still get an OV. Plus he said he may make it to the Iron Bowl

Lol. Auburn is a hat on the table in this one.

This DT rotation fixin' be nasty.

Regular-season stats this year: 86 total tackles, 37 TFL, 12 sacks, 24 QB hurries, 1 INT (31-yard return for TD), 1 blocked punt & 2 fumble recoveries.

I'd have paid money just to watch his interception return.

As athletic as I know they are nothing makes me smile more at a game than watching a big dlineman house one.

Spoke w the guy responsible for his "recruitment" at uga today. If Pruitt/sherer wind up staying they have him locked in...if there are coaching changes at the end of the year he will be back on the market and we stand a very good shot. So much will be in flux depending on what happens at end of season for uga coaching staff. I look at that two ways..1 coaching changes will allow us to steal some ga guys...2. I am scared of what a great coach will do with all the talent uga has. Personally I hope richt stays.

will be hilarious if GA Southern shreds them with that triple option. UGA is not going to score many points. That will ensure a coaching change.

Eh, very very few coaches replacing a long time successful coach work out. Jimbo is the only one I can think of lately. Odds are better that they spiral down for a while than the opposite.

Jimbo was actually coaching that team during the final 2-3 years of Bowden's tenure. It blew my mind when I saw an on-field interview with Bowden during the 3rd quarter of a game he was supposedly coaching, and they mentioned that he had just returned to the field after a visit to the skyboxes. During the game.
