Not a burner at all.
My hope for George is that he can be a dominant blocker on the edge and a situational receiving threat. I want him to essentially go post up small corners in the redzone. I don't think Dobbs would try that throw, but Dormady or Guarantano might when they take over. We'll see.
A newcomer already turning heads is Jeff George, who might have a bit more explosiveness than was initially anticipated based on his film. George is highly athletic and shows an ability to do some good things but must get bigger, faster and stronger. Naturally, though, Josh Dobbs has been working already with the Vols' skill players getting some throwing done.
Per Hubbs
-VQ.Expectation: In the rotation at wide receiver.
Reasoning: Josh Malone, Josh Smith, Preston Williams and Jajuan Jennings are the only four wideouts that caught a pass last season and will return to the wide receiver corps. Jason Croom has moved to tight end and so that leaves little depth for a staff that wants to play at least eight receivers in a game. George is on campus this spring and will get a head start on the other four wide receiver signees. George should see plenty of opportunities this spring and he could emerge as a nice red zone target. But, reports from campus imply he may be more athletic than people give him credit for. It would be rather surprising if George wasn't helping the receiver group from Day 1 come fall camp.
