'16 KS DT Alexis Johnson (UT commit 6/16/15)

What exactly does he do again? Scout?

Bob Welton is director of player personnel and Bob Merritt is director of recruiting. But yes, basically scouting and identifying talent early. They are both ex-NFL guys and are great at identifying talent. They are a big reason why we get in on players early. The "Bob's", and their team, watch film and identify players early that Merritt and Welton then approve to send to Butch for his evaluation. This system has been working great so far and they are talented men.

Another thing they are responsible for is making sure players are eligible when they get here. Once we identify a recruit that there is mutual interest between, they are sent a specific set of guidelines to follow to ensure they are able to enroll. It's the biggest reason we don't have many academic casualties in our classes.

What a freaking sweet job. You get to scout but not recruit.

I came to this thread to find the link, but didn't see it posted. These are his highlights from the season that just ended.

Sophomore Highlights #LLErik - Alexis Johnson highlights

Reminds me of Kahlil. Not freaky athletic but decent mobility. It looks like he'll be a space eater that takes up double teams. Derrick Brown on the other hand reminds me of Shy as an athletic gap penetrator.

I could see Shy and Kahlil taking snaps together and Brown and Johnson taking snaps together. That would be a really good 4 man rotation with duos that have similar skillsets.

We have the best DL in the sec next year and it's not even close. Maybe in the nation.

Danny O quietly saved our season last year IMO. Patton Robinette was inches away from breaking a long run on Vandy's last possession and Danny O tripped him up for a loss. It was a shoestring tackle.
