'16 LA DT D'Andre Christmas-Giles - (Former UT Commit 8/29/15)

If you expand the definition of "Knoxville" to include Sevier Co., sure. Otherwise I honestly kind of see his point.

That said, I can't imagine Baton Rouge being much fun in the offseason either. But I've never been there so wouldn't know.

I have. It's not better at all. I chose to not apply to lsu after my visit.

I'll be releasing the top 10 tomorrow. Sorry about that

I find it odd when a guy is committed, decommits, then doesn't even look at the school he originally committed to.

I can understand it when the school slow plays them or backs off, but if that doesn't happen why commit to begin with? Why not keep that school as an option?

Ungrateful or staff said fine kick rocks we aren't wasting anymore time once you decommit

I find it odd that after being committed for 4 months, he decommits and then wants to do a top ten list just one month before NSD. Once again, if LSU is the choice then he should commit to them while he still can. It's obvious by how late his offer came that LSU prefers other DT's and he is a fallback option for them. This kid has let this new found attention go to his head and he wants his ego stroked.

He's a teenager trying to figure out where he feels most comfortable and what the best decision is for himself and his future. Cut him some slack.

It's never too late for a Christmas list.

Would we take this guy back if LSU says no thanks and he chooses us from his top 10?

I don't mind cutting him slack for being a teenager but you just don't see very many of these top ten lists from 3 star recruits just one month before NSD or see many 3 star recruits putting their final decision off for the hats on the table show on NSD. I don't think he is good enough or coveted enough to be so self indulgent. Maybe he is getting bad advice but the way he has handled himself since his de-commitment doesn't make him seem very self aware... or smart at all.

So you're upset that he's making lists and putting hats in the table because he's a 3 star recruit? Are you the 4* police or something?

It sounds to me like you're butthurt and holding a grudge against a teenager because he decided not to play football somewhere besides Tennessee.

Hates Knoxville.

It sounds like you're giving him a pass for a lack of self awareness just because he is a teenager. He is a senior in high school - not a child. I stand by what I said, he is not being smart by making LSU wait until the last minute for his decision when he is clearly not a high priority for them. Of course, I'm assuming that LSU is where he really wants to go.

...and butthurt has become such a tired and overused message board word.

You do realize almost every senior in high school has to make a college choice decision, and some people this age (I assume 18 or close) actually make life and death decisions in the army, navy, air force.....:hi:

Lack of self awareness? You don't know anything about this kid and where he wants to go. He has every right to take his time deciding where he wants to spend the next four years of his life. He's just acting in exactly the same way as hundreds of other kids in his position do every year.

Your point is?

What does any of that change about a kid having the right to decide a school on his own time?

I'm just judging his actions (not unheard of on a message board) and of course, he has the right to take his sweet time... It's just not very smart in his case to keep coaches waiting for his decision when he is not a top priority for them - and I even said that I was assuming that LSU is where he wanted to go.
