'16 LA WR Corey Henderson (UT commit 3/30/15)

Denarius Moore is probably the exception, but he had a very lackluster high school career...

While he didn't rack up huge numbers, Moore was pretty productive on limited touches:

Twice named Class 2A Texas sportswriters first-team All-State as kick returner. As senior, caught 32 passes for 501 yards and rushed 27 times for more than 200 yards. As junior, totaled 27 receptions for 423 yards and eight touchdowns...tallied 287 yards on ground on 22 carries with two touchdowns.

Not really any recent news, but Fortenberry has said a couple of times now that he would consider this kid as one people sleep on in this class.

That could be true, but SEC-caliber skill players tend to shine and put up big numbers at the HS level; we've signed very few QBs, RBs or WRs over the years who didn't do so.

His modest stats don't mean that Henderson won't be a good player in the SEC, of course, but HS production has to be factored into a prospect's overall evaluation.

True. Preston Williams was triple covered at times and he still put up good numbers.

Any story on his visit with Jones and CZA??

He said his family met with Jones. His grandmother wanted to make sure he would be taken care of. His grandfather and dad asked how he would be used.

We plan to use him in the slot and outside some. Bubble screens will be something he is featured in. They want use his speed.

He is excited to meet the guys on campus and future teammates. He has never met JG in person. He is excited for his visit.

That's basically the cliff notes from the VQ article.

Junder's working on his canonization...if that's any indicator.

Good call, b. Didn't realize you were an insider :)

Poor kid was visited by the coaches simply to tell him in person he needed to wait until fall to enroll. But don't worry, they assured him, you'll promptly go on scholarship once you arrive off a greyhound in August.

Don't feel sorry for the kid because it's an honor to be a martyr for Butch, the savior of UT football.

Jk everyone, this kid seems ready to (en)roll. :shades: Put down the stones

@SwainEvent: Alabama is bringing the heat on #Vols WR commit Corey Henderson. WR recruiting has been very impressive in the 2016 class.

This old news?

New to me. Interesting. He doesn't get talked about much but the people coming after him like TCU and Alabama says he is pretty good

Buddy of mine told me Callahan and swain were talking about it this morning and Callahan says he is not visiting Bama.

some kids get a little offended by the offers less than two weeks til NSD.

Especially if they don't have an offer. Unless I'm missing something, bama hasn't offered. Bama could be talking to him. Swain could also just be pumping up one of our lower rated commitments. It doesn't really matter though as we need help in that WR slot position.

I would. I would either feel like you're just trying to boost your numbers and don't care about me or are just trying to steal me away from my school that has valued me for a while. I would say thanks but no thanks

Edit: unless it was Tennessee :)
