'16 MS CB Nigel Knott

It was always going to be an uphill battle getting an elite kid out of MS. I was starting to believe, but this isn't surprising really.

There is a tweet from him in the tweet thread saying this was a misunderstanding and that he is focusing on a top 5 rather than leaders.

Long way to go. VQ and 247 both agree we'll be a big factor

Josh Newberg's (Noles 247) article hardly mentions UT as much of a factor. UT was mentioned as one of his favorite visits. Otherwise, Knott said that Ole Miss and Miss State would be the two at the top of his top five schools. Here are some quotes:

"Yes sir," Knott said. "When I was there I just had a lot of fun being around the coaches. It felt like home. The players. It just felt like the right school."

That would no longer be the case though according to Knott.

"It is changing a lot," Knott said of his list and recruitment. "It is back down to like, towards that top ten. When I stopped and thought about what everyone has, I kind of feel like Florida State is not the only one that has that. But they have a lot of what I like.

"I was talking to one of the people committed (to FSU), and I was like man, I've been to all these other schools so now it just kind of feels like I need to wait," Knott added. "He just told me that every time I come back (to FSU), I am going to get that feeling again."

Knott said he is working towards a top five at this point. He said he doesn't currently claim a clear-cut favorite, but that his list would likely be topped by Ole Miss and then Mississippi State.

Regardless of how well we are in this one (if we even are anymore), this kid is from Madison, MS right outside Jackson, MS. That is Ole Miss territory. Simply due to the fact that he's from there, Ole Miss and potentially Miss State will be in this one until the end.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but his father, David Knott, played safety at Ole Miss.

amazing how many kids blow up the opening combine but barely anybody puts up these numbers at the NFL combine.

just funny how many kids have 44+ inch verts and low 4.4 speed during this event every single year. Doesnt seem right. Its a little inflated more than likely and i know alot of people think so too.

It's a different way of measuring it. Hang time is calculated as well into it so a lot of guys are pushing legs out to get better scores. The 40 times are inflated as well with how they time it.

Josh Imatorbhebe had a 47.1 inch vert. Thats how you should be able to tell that the numbers are inflated
