'16 NC OG Landon Dickerson

I saw Rick Barnes working this kid on the sideline. Probably trying to take the Caldwell county angle since they both grew up in that area.

Landon seemed to be enjoying the conversation.

It would be the first 4 star player Barnes has landed since being here!! :) J/K guys, had to have a little fun

Roided up?

I was in the basement at Joe Robby before we played them.Largest legs on a group of men I've ever seen.Everyone of the OL had tree trunk sized legs.Back to Dickerson though.Just his nasty finish the guy in front of him disposition. If we could ever get him JJ and Cade Mayes on the field at the same time look out.I don't think the refs can watch all 3 at the same time.:)

OVERALL TRAITS
Size-Strength-Athleticism
OL with adequate-to-good height depending on how utilized. Adequate bulk at this stage though possesses a frame that can still support needed additional good mass. Displays very nice playing strength.

Pass Protection
Flashes the ability to be able to deliver a powerful punch that can jolt rushers. Flashes enough lateral agility and balance to stay in front of rushers when he gets hands on. Does need to watch pad level and lean and get top heavy.

Run Blocking
Can deliver a strong initial pop and when asked to block down can bury defenders. Demonstrates ability to come off with pad level, though inconsistent hip roll, and get hand placement and generate some movement. Displays adequate body control and ability to use good angles to be an effective second level blocker.

Toughness
This is one of Dickerson's real assets as he is a physical kid who looks to enjoy contact and plays with an edge and is not afraid to throw his body around and try and finish opponents.

Bottom Line
Dickerson will line up at multiple spots including in the backfield for his HS and we feel he could develop at RT or potentially settle in at OG with the ability to offer some positional versatility/depth. With his physical and aggressive nature is an easy player to like and know he will line up and fight though needs to continue to develop. Prospect with ability to settle into a spot and further progress can be a good Power-5 OL and potentially tone-setter for unit.

Just caught up with Landon and he said his visit went very well. He really liked getting back in town and talking to the staff and seeing everyone again. He added that it was really good to get back and refresh his memory on why Tennessee has been one of his top schools for so long.

I asked him if this was his last visit to Tennessee and didn't rule it out. He's already OVed FSU and has OVs set up to Auburn, Alabama and Georgia and has his last one free in case any other school comes in. Full story up later tonight or tomorrow.

I didn't take this as good news. It sounds like he may not visit TN again...he already has 4 OVs set up or taken and is keeping the other one just in case another school comes in that he wants to see. That means TN isn't getting an OV...not a good sign to me.

"I asked him if this was his last visit to Tennessee and didn't rule it out."

So he didn't rule out the last OV, yet to you that means TN isn't getting it. Sound logic bro.

Sounds to me like he might visit again but not OV. That is the way it reads to me.

My #1 want for this class. Can you imagine an O-Line of Richmond, Dickerson, Robertson, Jones, and Hall? Nasty.

I read a post like this, and I think we have a good chance at Dickerson. Then I check on 247 sports, and we our not even in his top 3.:crazy:

I think he's referring to the fact that 247 has Auburn, Florida, and Virginia Tech listed as 'hot' while everyone else is listed as 'warm' or 'cool'. Which is not really indicative of his actual top teams. I'm not sure that he's actually come out and said what his top teams are, other than listing his official visits.
