I wonder if Trey Smith being in next class is part of the lack of urgency here. Smith is a top 5 priority in next class and a stud
We have bigger needs. It was in the VQ update you chose to ignore
There is a difference between VQ conjecture and a hard fact of a top rated OT wanting to be a Vol. CBJ has several 3 star recruits he can gray or blue shirt to secure Dickerson. If Dickerson isn't a Vol in the end that will be his decision and not CBJs

A. Everything Eazy has stated about Dickerson has been correct. He said the staff sees him as a guard (not a far fetched statement). Where do we have a ton of depth? Offensive guard. The 3 we have committed are all viewed as OT.
B. Who gives a sh** what rivals rates him. Maybe we don't rate him as highly as others, which would explain why we never in-homed with him even though we were in his top 2.
C. If recruits were getting a grey/blue shirt offer, it would have came earlier (I.e. Hart).
D. Like VQ said, DL is much more important right now than OL in a smaller class with 3 already committed.
It isn't an ignorant thought to think if we get Kongbo or Brown, we passed on Dickerson. People get entirely too caught up in star ratings. Dickerson is definitely a great player, but Bama is slow playing him too right now. Hmmm. How could they do that to the #2 RANKED OT?!??!? Maybe it's because they're not as high on him either.
Good reply Wick but I still believe with all of our OL woes, Dickerson is a take. We were ranked 36th in total defense and didn't rank in the top 50 in total offense mainly due to OL production and pass efficiency which I place on Dobbs accuracy

I think more of that falls on play calling than anything personally. I'd love to know the % of pass to rush plays.
The pass offense was a train wreck on multiple levels... QB reads and execution, pass pro, reciever routes and execution/fighting for the ball... It was all bad. Individual plays had good execution in some facets only to have a dropped pass, or a whiff in protection, or a bad pass. It never was in sync at all.
Too bad we don't have someone tasked with actually coordinating the passing game...
