'16 NC RB BJ Emmons

Business decision. Most of these kids know which college they choose is the most important decision they can make for their future. And if they're smart they don't just go to the team they grew up rooting for. They go to the school that'll help them accomplish their goals.

If the kid wants to be an NFL RB, can't blame him for going to Alabama. They've been producing them in droves.

If you're good, you're good regardless of school.

Not sure about "droves". They usually settle on a workhorse and run the bejesus out of him. Plenty of 5 stars watching from the sideline. By the time they get to the NFL, they ain't fresh. The Ingram and Richardson first rounders haven't been as productive as the Lacy and Yeldon lower rounders who didn't get worn out as much. Henry 44 carries in the SECCG. Holy Santa Claus! :pinch:

And you think he can't get to the NFL just as easily with a successful collegiate career at Tennessee as Alabsma? Can't blame him for going to Bama at all, but if he loves Tennessee but thinks he can't get to the league wearing the Orange and White, then he's badly misjudged the situation. Also, as far as putting RBs in the league who go on to have successful NFL careers, it's Tennessee by just north of a country mile.

That is all true but in the media driven world we live in it is all about what you have done lately.. In that regard they are ahead by a country mile.. That's just part of recruiting when you are building a program back to prominence.. You are going to lose some of these battles

I believe he has chosen alabama because he knows they'll get him in with his reported grade issues, whereas we likely could not. It's likely as simple as that, plus they're playing for the title every year.

Correct. He knows that he could get into Bama with a single digit ACT score.

Doesn't matter what the media thinks about Alabama. Tennessee is as major a university and football program (that plays in the same conference) as Alabama. If a player is as good at Tennessee as he is at Alabama he'll be evaluated the same by NFL scouts, despite the fact that Alabama has had much more win-loss success the past decade. And that doesn't even take into account the poor reputation of Alabama backs in the NFL in recent years.

This is likely correct. Not to take anything away from the Alabama brand...they're the preeminent program in college football right now and to get an offer from them means a lot. But at the end of the day, if he runs for 4,000 yds and 30 tds in his collegiate career, it won't effect his draft stock if he's wearing orange and white vs Crimson and white.

Alabama is good at getting HS coaches to "push" players.

Albert Means coach and his $250k say hi

This helps, too. I am not going to spread things that were told to me, but Bama tried getting people around Drew Richmond on their side, too. Didn't work.
