Foster had big physical fullbacks blocking for him. Hurd is finally getting push up front. I don't remember Foster being this home run hitter at Tennessee. Lamarcus Coker was but Foster has a way of fumbling all of his good plays out of my memory. 😁
As you can see what he did by leading the NFL in rushing he had more skill than alot of running backs we've had. He underperformed imo.I think he was capable of alot more than he put out. His senior year should have at the very least mirrored his junior year. Instead he fell off. That's all I'm saying.
Wasn't his last year the year of the Claw?
Yes you are right it was. I went back and looked and his carries were almost cut in half from his junior year to his senior year. So that plays into it. I was wrong about him underperforming. I guess he just wasn't properly utilized. Another failure of the clawfense. Thanks for bringing that to my attention jacket. I still think Hurd is a better back.
He is better but Foster was a really good one who rarely fumbled but when he did, it was a very bad time. Clausen's O killed his draft position. With that said, he has been a horrible representative.

With a good junior season (800-1000 yards, 8-10 TD's) Hurd is up there with the likes of Jamal Lewis, Reggie Cobb, etc. and well ahead of Foster, who really just had one great season.
Despite just a little over 500 yards his senior season, he is second all time in UT rushing history. He is 114 yards from being first all time and if not for Claw, he would've been first. He was very good and ready to have a big senior year when the Claw experiment failed and UT started the ..........well, you know the rest.
If not, then we should move him back to DT, IMHO. This is where I wanted to see him play this year, actually. To be in the mix with K-Mac and Tuttle. On running downs Mosley and K-Mac would be beastly. It's why Bama is so hard to run against. They had two tree trunks in the middle of the DL.Agree. I don't see Charles Mosley leapfrogging two guys that actually played this year in Wiesman and Jack Jones.
Also. I don't see Charles Mosley leapfrogging.

Chuck Webb was best I ever saw play out of all of them and with injury, he is not at the top of career list. Foster did very well even though I don't like him much, he had really had 3 years and 2400 yards if you throw out the senior season and it would stack up well. Think he was under appreciated because of the fumbles. Then, he went all stupid after he left. You are right. Last I will say on it here. :hi:
