ClemScum has billboards up on I-85 in Atlanta. They say NFL Pipeline and some other non sense. I'm like whose dumb idea was this?

Yep, just extremely dumb move putting a billboard up in the hotbed of Georgia recruiting showing off the fact that the Atlanta Falcons used their 1st and 5th round draft picks on Clemson players.

I mean, what recruit in their right mind would want to only travel 120 miles down the road to play college ball and then get drafted by their hometown NFL team? Retarded is a better word to describe this. I'm going to write a note to my IPTAY Rep demanding we get a refund for this.

Anyways, back to Diondre....Huge pull for Tenn to get him on campus next weekend. Otherwise he would been at our cookout and likely pulled the trigger. Obviously, Tenn is still very much in play here. Kid has a really high ceiling and will be a great player for one of us. Grossly underrated initially in the rankings, and probably still is to a certain degree. Hopefully he is easily influenced by billboards. :)

Not sure. Either way, I think you're thinking a little too hard. Luckily, I don't think most recruits will have that problem.

To not highlight the fact that Clemson took two 3* kids from Georgia and turned them into Atlanta Falcon draft picks (one being top 10 overall) would be missing a huge opportunity, IMO.

Just for ****s and giggles, put the shoe on the other foot and imagine that the Titans used their 1st and 5th round draft picks on Vols. Then Butch decided to put this billboard up halfway to Nashville. How many people on here would be calling it "dumb" or "embarrassing"?

Lol, yep, but we're alright at WR.

It just proves the lengths schools are willing to go to for top talent. The police escort is no more or less corny than some billboards being hung by Clemson, or some drawing from UF.

Sometimes it's better to laugh at the whole process, rather than talking yourself into believing your school's tactics are any better or worse than anothers.......Unless of course you're USCjr, and you don't even have any tactics. :)

Uhh, terrible example.... Nashville is in Tennessee and close to Knoxville and it's all instate. You shoulda just said what if Butch put one up in Georgia too.

Tennessee hs football players that are going/went to The University of TN, is very different than two players from Georgia that went to Clemson and getting drafted by the Falcons. That is like CBJ putting a billboard in Florida because Juwan James was drafted by the Dolphins. It's stupid.

except for Butch not recruiting James, I don't see how it is dumb. Getting the name out there, local kid, local team. expanding a brand beyond its boundaries, anything and everything is fair game and "good". i guess i am just not seeing the "dumbness"

people seemed to be hating on the billboard idea. i don't understand it. Nashville to Knoxville is farther than Clemson to Atlanta.
