I was at 2 of this kids games this past season. At different points of each game he was absolutely dominant. This being while going up against other top 20 national HS programs. Watched him at the Rivals Camp Series this past summer also and he showed out great there too. He transferred to Paramus Catholic before his junior year and it has only helped him because the Coaching he has and will continue to receive there is way better than where he was in Scotch Plains. Also this kid isn't going to Rutgers. The biggest threat I see is Jabrill Peppers getting in his ear about following him to Michigan.

Thanks for the input. Looks like you'll be our go to poster for info on him over the next year... Keep us posted

Boss, Shug, and Shy on our defensive line makes us the coolest school in America. Well reinforces that fact at least. Can we get Poona Ford to transfer here?

I'm bumping this thread so that a week from today, I don't have to search for (other!) NJ recruits. :detective:

From ESPN.

Rashan Gary of Paramus (New Jersey) Catholic High School was at South Carolina, Georgia and Clemson this past weekend, and the visits went really well for all three programs. Gary, the No. 5 player in the ESPN Junior 300 and the top defensive tackle in the country, was in Columbia on Thursday, Athens on Friday and Clemson on Saturday, and he said he "really enjoyed the love" he got from all three programs.

Despite being from New Jersey, Gary does have some family ties to the Southeast. He has an uncle that lives in Anderson, South Carolina, and that’s something that could help bridge the distance should he choose to go farther away from home.

Though many observers believe Michigan is the team to beat for Gary, he’s not tipping his hand at this point. Gary said after the spring evaluation process is over he hopes to narrow his list and plan some additional unofficial visits in the summer.

I don't know about everyone else but I think this guy is the best player in the country, period. I don't know if landing JG would help in Gary's recruitment or not but certainly can't hurt. Dude is a monster

Link?

Does JG really have that much influence??

IMO it's overblown.

Gary's mom has completely taken over his recruitment. She was quoted saying something along the lines of, let him have his fun on his visits and when I am ready, I will sit him down and let him know how it is going to be.

On Walker, not sure it matters much there either. If it was that important to Walker where JG went, why commit 3 months before him?

I don't think you will have to worry about Walker for now. I think the whole buddy recruits buddy deal is a little overblown, as you stated. Garys recruitment is a toss up right now.
